Kam's Dad seems to think Stokes is UK bound

Him I may actually be inclined to believe may at least have a somewhat grounded hunch. The people here who told us Wright’s deal was already done and just waiting to be announced were clearly fos so I never bothered believing them and was never surprised.
I watched the whole interview- He did not say that he was coming. He did say that the current players are pulling for him to come & looking forward to playing with him . He did say Kam will play the 2 & Stokes the 3. He did compliment Potter,
No inside scoop at all. Did say other Portal players are watching & waiting for Stokes decision to decide whether or just to play for Kentucky- especially swing 2 & 3’s.
He said multiple times that Kam is gonna play the 2/3 this year and Tyran the 3/4. That Kam is expected to play more in the SG role this season.
Sounds more like that would be his hope assuming we land him.
Yeah....I can already hear it. "Pope had to pay him 20 million to come here, he overpaid!" Something like that.
There is a fine line between what you call complaining and others call accepting reality. The reality is it doesn’t matter what our roster looks like next year, UK will lose a minimum of 12 games with Pope as a head coach. Whatever the stokes news ends up being will have zero effect on my outlook for next season.
Easy trigger. He will do well to be a top 7 player on an average to bad UK team. That ain’t gonna put him top 15 in the SEC. Might be top 15 in the state. Some of you get a little wild with expectations.
Just think about it. He’d have to be at the very least top 3 on the Cats to be top 15 in the SEC. If he’s top 3 on the Cats…just woof man.
Yeah, there’s a bit of a problem there. He kinda sucks at it.
Do you think a current players dad is going to say, I think pope is the whiff man and will whiff on stokes, too?

Yes… the team sleepwalks through most of the first half of games before they start trying to play catch-up….That is a problem.
He’s not now but prior to last season’s debacle, he was projected by some to be first round up to mid lottery. If you googled to find the link you did, you probably also saw that.

That’s common among players who play for pope and any players with NBA aspirations choose to play for a little less money at other schools because NIL is not the end game for players like Yaxel, or Tyran. It’s why we will end up not signing Tyran.
I really like Kam. Wouldn’t surprise me to see him be a starter no matter who Pope is able to get.
The biggest area he MUST improve for NBA potential is his ballhandling/ability to attack the rim. If he significantly improves that, he has a real chance to make it and stay in the league.
What does that mean?

I DO NOT like the thought of Kam at the 2 spot. I‘ve had enough of guys that couldn’t handle the ball well enough for the position they were playing .
I’m just going to say,a couple of guys over on the HOB board that have been spot on with info in the past were saying the same thing. They say the UK staff were stunned at what happened.
That sadly doesn't surprise me at all.
Think about the size you can put across though
PG - 6’4” well above average size
SG - 6’8” well above average size
That’s going to cause teams some serious problems.
