This. Seems in Popes offense 2 or 3 of these are a necessity. Without it is bound to stall into one on one plays.
Also have to remember TTU has no players rn, so matching their offer for Davis (not going to even try and guess what they paid) when he’s a TX native would’ve been unwise.

Wrong smart*ss. If you review my posts you will find I stated Mitch should be fired due to the Pope hire when it happened. Then like most fans I had no choice but to try and support Pope. I like the guy and will forever be grateful for helping bring a title to UK. But just recently I posted I didn't think he would make it past year 3. Difference with me vs the constant trolls and negativity posters is I understand Pope gets at least 1 more year to try to fix things. So again as a UK fan and no other option I will support him and hope he can. Regardless if he does or doesnt we as fans get what we want as he either fixed it and grew as a coach or we move on. The constant negativity from some posters adds absolutely nothing to this board. Im fine with folks being upset. I am upset with several things as well but I am not going to turn every freaking thread into an agenda to bash Pope or our players. I mean just review alot of the posts the last few months. A lot of immature, childish, teenage girl type drama an over reaction.

Well said. The constant negativity is as frustrating as waiting for commitments.
Maybe Pope is doing a "horrid" job, but Texas Tech also reportedly has one of the biggest purses ($) in the game. That doesn't hurt, especially if you target the right guys and move on them quick - e.g., really good players who are not the one of the few initial flashy names all the talking heads talk about.

I could have posted this myself and it be 100% genuine. So many people just don’t understand parsing “what I want” versus “what I expect.” Pope is the coach — some of us aren’t going to waste all our time and energy on complaining over the program’s issues that 1.) aren’t exclusively on the shoulders of one coach and 2.) can’t be mitigated by my extremely negative constant slants.
When the Pope era is over, the Pope era is over. Until then, I’ll support the coach and the program I love. There is no amount of social pressure going to change my mind about it. Anyone who has a problem with it can take your exclusive little cliques and shove them. Anyone who wants to talk ball with me, debate and have friendly banter, I’ll do that as much as you want.
This is correct, to us he was a 1 million backup portal guy. TT definitely paid more and plan to start him, but all the mindless see is 20ppg.

Word was that Stokes wants to see what players would be on the team he signs with, waiting to see what we and Kansas add before he decides. If we can add Freeman and Wilkins, we have a really good starting lineup for him to slot into:

This reminds me of the old days of everyone watching the door only this time everyone watching and hoping that Pope gets his 4th and 5th options... Thank goodness we only have one more year of this nightmare we have to live through.

Problem with telling sources is that they no longer become sources when stuff drops. You can take it for what you will but it’s someone who’s close to the situation. I’ve been told. I’m no insider, but a friend who knows someone around the program said that TS had a list of players he wanted to play with, Zoom being one of them. Agent allegedly said that “he is going to take 2 weeks to see if the roster comes together” Nikes pull helps on a lot of fronts, but ultimately who he is playing with is the biggest waiting game. Which we’ve all heard and it seems like the timeline would make sense. But a kid can change his mind at any point I would just give it two weeks on TS before I start to panic. If Pope values him as much as he should I would imagine he will try and get 1 or 2 more of the guys that stokes wants to play with. I also have no clue who those players are, I just know zoom was one of them. McLean coached Freeman on the Bahamas team and that could help with freeman. Again, I am no one close by any means. Just trying to help some people level out until a decision is made. If it happens it happens, if not then I sound like a lot of other people who don’t know anything and were as bad as it seems now.
