Looks like 21 million guaranteed. I think his grandkids will be fine.
I call that insane for coaching a game. It’s a great time to coach big time athletics.
How exactly would that be "karma" for football. You clearly don't understand the concept of karma.
And his results were absolute dogsh*t until this year. And Nebraska faded at the end of the season (Fran fade).
The success of the Nebraska season will be determined in the next few days. If they fail to reach the sweet 16, then they simply have a Fran level season.
Tongue in cheek reference to sporting gods having a sense of humor allowing one of worst fb programs to the top while then taking same schools historically strong bb program to flame out.
I want success for both. Indiana had 3 NCAA titles under Knight. I'd take one under Ben. And be happy to see Devries return Indiana back to prominence. Just would rather see Iowa be more prominent.
Honestly I hope IU b-ball like Nebby football continues to suck for the foreseeable future. It’s been 30+ years since their title days (with more success sprinkled in for IU b-ball) but their fans act holier than thou because of that and I wish them nothing but the worst because of it.
At Iowa football game in Bloomington a decade ago. Fans were great tailgating with. One even said we like Iowa a lot because we aren’t a threat in b-ball. Which I get but then more you talk about bball with their fans the arrogance and hubris comes out and just reeks of the same stuff with Husker football.
I can’t stand when announcers or analyst make the claim it’s better for the game when school “x, y or z” or in this case Indiana is better. Honestly no it doesn’t really matter and we’ve been getting by fine with out them last decade plus and as mentioned for Husker football this century with them being irrelevant.

Elite 8 for McCullum. and a turn down to the NIT for Devries That is a huge gap. McCullum has done more with less talent than ANY coach in the history of Iowa basketball. Iowa has proved they can beat the best with Stirtz having bad games, The man (McCullum) can coach. I think it is more than fair to compare the two after one year and it ain't close. It seems that you are not happy unless you are denigrating anything Hawkeye.
Well what do you know...maybe you can't judge a coach by how he did one week in March during his first season after all?
DeVries currently has the #1 ranked recruiting class in the country out of the portal. It includes six 4**** guys...which is more than the Hawks had on their entire roster the past few years. They have commits from Duke, Notre Dame, Alabama, Georgia Tech, and Vanderbilt. One is a 7'2 stud from Turkey, another is 6'11.
Meanwhile, McCollum's 40 minute per game golden goose is gone...so how is he doing in the portal to maintain the momentum of Iowa's best run in 30 years? Well, the Hawks have 0 portal commits. Any super star visits scheduled? Nah. Are they close to landing a few 4**** transfers at all who can come in and carry a team like Stirtz did? Not that I've been able to tell. I did hear there's a guard who averaged 4 points per game at North Carolina coming in.
I hope McCollum can continue to do "more with less." But the fact is, the guy was blessed with an all American point guard this year while Indiana didn't. Schools like Iowa State etc. have already reloaded in the portal. Ben is striking out.
Let's see what happens next year when Indiana has a stacked roster and Iowa's got Peyton McCollum running point.

The only thing this shows is that Indiana as a backer that is paying a **** ton of $$ for these guys.....they are over paying to get them......that is all this shows...doesn't show who is the better coach and even a clown knows that

Indiana and DeVries has out spent everybody to bring in this class. He only had two on the roster so he needed alot.
I said in another thread that it will be interesting to see how DeVries coaches a very high paid team and how they come together. He has not been in this position before. Managing this will be key. Not saying he won’t do it but a bunch of college kids making 3-4 million a year sets up for different challenges.
AND didn't just show up packed for one game, (Fran), reaching the elite 8. Ben EXPECTS to win.
Everyone is falling into the Slaw trap. He'll purposefully say some dumb ish, spell things wrong, and make other claims that are incorrect (on the FB board he often puts up incorrect stats) and everyone will feed the troll.
