Xfl kickoffs in the NFL?

Interesting. I'd love to see what the average starting field position is on the XFL kick returns.

If the Hall of Fame game is an indicator, all the kickoffs I saw the kicker was trying to kick short of the end zone. They where not fully running up to the ball.

Makes too much sense - they'll never do it. Argument will be that it takes away the traditional onside kick

My suggestion is that after the ball is kicked the kick return team can identify as the kicking team and then mass chaos breaks out!!!****

You can either increase returns or you can reduce injuries. This rule does not do both of those things.
They're safer because the coverage team pursuers and the receiving team blockers start only 5 yards apart, so you don't get 40-yard sprints into wedges.

I may be confusing the XFL's kickoffs with the USFL's kickoffs. I went to a couple of Showboats games and was intrigued by the kickoffs. They kicked off from the 20. There was much skull cracking going on during those returns.
