Jeremy Hecklinski and Hank Brown will battle for the starting quarterback job. The Hawkeyes added Phillips, who ran for 1,920 yards with 19 touchdowns for the Coyotes. Three starters from the Joe Moore Award-winning offensive line are leaving, but guard Kade Pieper coming back for another season helps. There are many holes to fill on defense, but with Phil Parker still in charge, the Hawkeyes should again be stingy.

This vote position is based on Kirk's scheme, PParker's scheme, playing great fundamental football in special teams, low penalties and turnovers. And that is all good. The hawks really need to get off to a 3-0 start with what they have coming up in games 4-7.

I expect this team will be pretty good by games 7 or 8 thru 12. But if the Oline is great again with our running backs, if the QBs play very well and Diaz etc catch most balls then the offense should be scoring 31+ pts a game which is great considering PParker's squad should hold most teams under 20. But that also depends on first shutting down the run, getting a better pass rush, and I think the dbacks will be pretty good. I hope we get back to getting more turnovers

Last year seemed like the peak of Rhule's first wave. Emmett Johnson was an NFL-level RB and Mini-Mahomes had a year under his belt. The schedule was favorable.

Both of them are gone now and the last 7 games are:

Indiana

@Rutgers (they could lose this one after 4 weeks of beat down)

I see a serious backslide.

They'll be clawing for bowl eligibility by the time they get to Iowa City. They'll be lucky to get to 5 wins this upcoming season. While I love seeing them suffer, there's no denying they have one of the most grueling schedules in the nation.

Washington ahead of Iowa is a joke imho..they do have a proven QB but he’s not a great passer but is pretty good scrambling..

Desmond Williams jr. was pretty good last year finishing 10th in country with QB rating of 161.
3100 yds passing on 70% completion rate, 28 tds w 8 ints.
He will be in the Heisman discussion next season as Washington has some big game opportunities at home,including Iowa and OSU.

Now, not sure bout rest of team but must have some studs or would not be ranked.
If hawks can beat them on their own field after playing at mich and OSU the prior 2 weeks it would be huge....and prove we deserve to be ranked ahead of them...we hold our destiny in our own hands
Hawks need to win one of those three games to soar next year....no easy choice.

All the NU fans will want to be there for the first season in the new stadium. Tickets for visitors may be somewhat scarce.

Cool part is they will win those first 3 games and they will have the big heads again like they are back and the Rhuler will be puffing his chest and bugging out his eyes.

Emmett Johnson was their Offense last year.

Even with an All Big Ten RB, they were nothing special.

They better strike gold again with another new addition to the team, or with a much tougher schedule, things could get pretty bleak for them this year.

Yeah, I would definitely take him on the Hawks. Other than him they didn't have much.

They went 7-5 last year with a soft schedule. It's a lot tougher row to hoe for them in 2026. If they somehow get to seven wins give Rhule another extention!

I'll be honest, I have no clue why posters always do that and/or create Nebby threads. It's dumb and annoying.

I enjoy having fun at Nebraska's expense, but my god it does hit a point where it's sad to bring you guys up as frequently as it happens.

There should be one Nebby hate megathread and everything could just be put in there 😂
