He hired a weird dude with zero tournament wins and only 2 seasons anywhere with less than 10 losses. I’m so tired of the narrative that this guy was anything but a disaster of an AD for 24 years. Then stole a bunch of money on the way out and doesn’t want to relinquish power. This man destroyed UK sports.

Can’t fault Pope for taking his dream job st his dream school. But I can fault Barney for hiring him when his resume wasn’t UK worthy if he never wore the jersey.

Heat died down because he’s basically gone. But he’s the sorry POS responsible for the last decade long nightmare in basketball. The worst 5-6 year period for bball and football combined in UK history is the last 5-6 years. There’s not a single person on earth I hate more than Mitch. I hoped so bad that one of the fans he got into with in person would have popped him in the jaw. He’s the type of guy that picks who he mouths off to and has never been popped in the mouth but needs it.

I guess you missed the half dozen "deal with the devil" memes that were floating around? Barnhart has gotten savaged more on this site than the ceiling tiles in the cardinal dorms when Katina Powell and her crew were attending recruiting visits.
Barnhart ultimately is responsible for the basketball program but never is held accountable. He's better at that than we give him credit for. He's gifted at buerocracy. Good for him.
