she's not a great shooter

2024 - 26% 3FG
2025 - 32% 3FG

she's more of a Kylie F. clone with a better offensive skillset, she's a ball hawk on D
She only shoots like three 3s per game.

The old forum was pretty good - 10-20 regular posters. Its not say we still had issues. I will state I was one that questioned 2+ yrs ago when Hawkbuck said Greenway wasn't coming to Iowa. I said at the time kids can change their mind if the info was true. It shows 2 things, some individuals have really good access to information. 2. As fans we can get frustrated when things don't go the way we think it should. Even still it was still pretty constructive and we all seemed to have a pretty good time.

This current forum is a bit of a hot mess.

Here's a cued up video with Amari Whiting talking about what part of her game she takes the most pride in. SPOILER: It starts with the letter D.

I made my original post without the promised video, providing a wonderful opportunity for everyone to make fun of me. Two hours later, I noticed my mistake and added the video, but I welcome continued mockery. I am quite amused by it.

But can she dribble with a defender in her face? Kylie struggled with that.
Yeah, Kylie improved her handles and if she could get her shoulders and torso past a defender she was good at going to the glass. But since she wasnt a trey hotshot defenders could also back off of her

Is there really a difference in our style of play between a guard or a SF?

I think that as the years go by we will see Jan change up the style of play, a bit, to the individuals she has at that moment. Will most likely always be based around a point guard and a post..just like we have seen for the last decade...but change up based on what the other strengths and weaknesses of the team as a whole.

It's math and stats, if she shoots 3 treys she should make one, 6 treys is 2 makes.....

Maybe she gets to be a 40 % 3 pt shooter and shoots 10 a game and makes 4 for 12 + points, that would be great and they say she plays tough Dee, maybe she is a great passer also.

Really? Kylie was still really bad at attacking the glass. Mostly just poor decisions on when to take it all the way. She would regularly drive into traffic and get swallowed up and have no where to go.

Yeah. She made all of 18 2 point baskets the entire season on 38% shooting and only 7 in Big10 play. She and McCabe hit a total of 23 between them.

Wow. The crazy thing is that's a HUGE upgrade for McCabe if you can believe that. Only playing about 1/2 the season and that 5 two point baskets was probably a career season high in her time at Iowa.
