To me it looks like Brooks and Hart

Popes just a weird dude that nobody wants to be around. Especially younger people. It's not JMI or anything else. Popes weird. Not going to over exaggerate it or under exaggerate it. It's that simple Pope is a weirdo.

Can't relate to people

Garrison was supposed to follow Hart to SMU and he went to Alabama. Hart also couldn't get Jason Crowe whom he had a close relationship with.
It’s definitely weird but maybe those guys had no intention of going to Texas or didn’t want SMU. The Crowe stuff sucked, but he’s not as close as his own dad. They at least signed a decent portal class two years in a row. Just the pieces didn’t fit the second year. Look at these results without em.

Here a huge worry now. Diallo doesn’t seem very enthused to come now. He may for the right price, but do we really want another here just to collect checks while not wanting to be here? Who is going to want to sign first with no PG? Scary times. We better go all in on Wilkins, Cox, and the dude from Utah. At least they are talented enough to win games.

Are you saying the assistants we had are why recruiting is so bad? They sure didn’t have any issues getting players when they recruited at other schools.
Hart didn't really close on many top recruits at Kentucky, He was the leading recruiter on a bunch of guys Kentucky didn't get.

Knew that Pope was a joke and dipped out. It obviously wasn’t their fault we couldn’t land guys.
100% what happened! Same with most, if not all of the players who transferred!

Look, Brooks and Hart both had previous records of getting and developing star players, whereas Pope had zero of either, so I’m going with the most common denominator here, and say it’s entirely on Pope!

And to think, Pope started his UK career by beating a Cooper Flagg led Duke team, and got all the way up to #4 in the AP Poll, sitting at 7-0, then the wheels came completely off after that, and here we are today with ZERO portal commitments 10 days into the portal opening.

Same hart that couldn't get dink pate to follow him. Floridas coach stalks younger girls. I do think pope is too nice and going after wrong guys. It'll probably be his undoing. You can want guys that love playing for Kentucky eventually not right off the bat.

I've said this the entire time.

There have been 100 "Bring back Antigua" threads. Alvin Brooks aint the problem. Jason Hart aint the problem. Antigua isn't the solution.

Anybody think it could be something deeper than just being "weird" and that he has some legit mental health issues .
There are a lot of weird coaches and always have been.

Alvin had Texas ties, but not like his daddy. Did well at Baylor. Not here. Hart never had to recruit while he was coaching the G-League. His name has some pull, but he didn't have to negotiate contracts as a coach and close on recruits prior to coming here.

Pope has issues, for sure, but the assistants didn't help. I've heard repeatedly that Pope talks to these kids about UK history and God... Way too much. Okay. Great. Talk money, Coach. Sell the brand and what it can do to elevate the athlete.

Love Pope. Love that he has great conviction and passion and faith... But that doesn't sell the program.

Doesn't it make you wonder what the whole "touch money" was about? Almost like a universal FU to the program.

Honestly, he probably would be a better coach in the women's game. Their ego structure is fundamentally different and most strive to please.
Obviously, he should relate better to young females, as he has raised a family with four (4) of them.

I read somewhere that Hart done a good job recruiting at USC? That could be wrong but I thought I seen that somewhere. Thank you for the information.
