Given the lack of portal pfs or centers, I'm wondering if we in fact don't have $8-10 million

Also, even if we do in fact have $10 Mil, the issue may be that we do not have enough “buying power” to compete with other programs who still have substantially more than us. Our budget went up, but same thing for everybody else, especially the big boys.

I find it hard to believe lack of funds is the problem. It seems like we play a quiet game of musical chairs but perhaps the chairs were targeting arent realistic and the ones we could’ve sat in are getting taken. Hopefully we are adjusting now and will start landing some players soon because at the moment, our only front court player hasn’t scored a basket since the Rider game.

Maybe we have a lot less. Is that possible?
I don't think you appreciate how high prices are. RU reportedly spent $750K just to retain Lino Mark. Given that number, RU could easily have spent $4-$5 M just to retain Mark ($750), Francis ($2M), Buchanan ($750K), Davis ($500K) Powers ($500K) and Ware ($200K). The numbers in parenthesis are just my estimates based on the market. And, yes, even an unproven bench big man like Ware gets $200K in this market. Gurdack reportedly got $2M. Smith probably got a $1M or so and Syndor and our Dominican pro probably got another million collectively. So RU has already likely spent $8 to $9 million. That does not leave much, if any, left assuming the $8 to $ 10M budget reports are accurate.

I know those our guesstimates but TF, Lino, and JMike are not worth those numbers at all

Happy with what RU has done here. My colleague told me that St. John's is spending $25 million for their roster with several high profile additions already done. But that is top 10 level spending.

it is great that these young men and woman are getting paid for their skills and years of hard work rather than being trapped within an illegal price fixing scheme. Progress. Now hopefully the system can get team continuity to improve. With many of the RU target’s having multi-year eligibility remaining, could be soon here.

Bigs are in high demand, so the prices are high right now especially when college basketball has become such an analytical and efficiency based game.

Pike might be content structuring his team around 3 guards, 1 Wing, 1 Big or 2 Guards, 2 Wings, and a Big like his most successful years 2018-2021. Get back to what he knows best.

Looking much better. We need to round things out with a strong defensive pick up to balance the ticket.

Wrestling with whether or not we’d let Nwuli return. Bad precedent, but can see him growing into that. Doesn’t seem like he’s gotten as much interest as he expected.
