He isn't a "make us a FF4 contender on his own" player but he does appear to be our #1 option at PF. Would be nice to actually land a #1 option at any position. If we do miss on Wright and Stokes it won't matter too much, we won't be a FF contender (and could be worse than last year) but I'm not officially entering panic mode until we see the official misses.

edit: aaand no Wright. Diallo-Stokes-Freeman-Moreno and a really good 2 guard could still work. But options are getting thin.

I get it, but I don’t think any of that matters. Mark pope cannot sustain here. Year in and year out blue blood results? There’s a zero % chance of that. His record is what it is, he is who he is. Coaches own him bad on the trial, players and families talk and he’s grown a horrible reputation. There is no undoing this. He’s done.

Well looks like it’s sadly official with wright now.. NIL world seems to be a world that has pope under water.
Any thoughts where we go next outside of zoom or freeman?

I mean, I think there's a really really good chance this is his last year here. Most likely outcome is we have another season like last year.

There are more targets but these are the ones most connected and being pursued by us. It's a must get 6 or more of them IMO. If we can pull Diallo, Cox, Wilkins, Brown/Celiscar/Rancik and Freeman/Goode its a much improved team at that point but still not where we need to be. Stokes is so secretive that it is hard to tell, but if he wanted Kansas so bad why hasn't he signed. We know our offer is better by a large margin so with an ego like his I think $$$$ talks still. That being said my optimism is much lower today than it was 2 days ago. Still time to build a legit team, but we have to sign someone ASAP to get momentum in the positive direction.

Blows my mind, if the contract wasn't to his agents liking then just fix it and get it signed. Its all like the damn twilight zone. :rolleyes:

More than that left but not that we are in talks with past initial conversations. Can make a good roster out of that when you add in Williams and Moreno but not an elite one IMO unless you get Wilkins, Stokes and Freeman plus 3-4 others. Have to land the couple top players off that list or it will be another Fringe top 20ish team at the ceiling.
