I said a few days ago we would likely get 1 of the 3 to commit but it would be the least heralded among them.

Looks like I will be right yet again.

I have yet to see Pope win a recruiting battle against another Blue blood, but hoping this is different. It's certainly under different circumstances. Pope's job literally depends on landing elite talent. That's not fair to Pope but blame Barnhardt.

One thing I’ll say in our favor is that his only profile info on Instagram is “Christ Follower.” Hurley may still get him, but Pope is probably better at getting the outwardly religious kids.

I know…..I’m reaching. 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Rainmaker you hearing anything on the freeman front?
Very little, but from what I know we are second place. Maybe this is one we somehow win and shifts our momentum. We need a win badly because that first Domino creates more. Wright from what I understand didn't like the team performance and individual performance Bonuses built into his NIL. Even though our base offer was still higher than BYU. Technically it was Wrights agent that didn't like it not Rob himself, that is what I heard happened with him. Still not convinced he doesn't come here but damn what a blow. This NIL makes the recruiting process so muddy, I'm not a fan.

We are the University of Kentucky and we are having to beg these kids to take a higher offer to play here and they are choosing not to. I don’t understand why some on here are still positive. If we don’t land two top portal guys we might not even make the NCAA tournament on Popes swan song.

Or we could post everything negative as we just hate our life. Still not adding to anything.
I so much want to be positive about the current state and direction of our program and appreciate the posters here who do keep their chin up. Took me a while to get pulled into the dark side, but dang I am here. Truth is it sure is tough to know we have another wasted year of 12-15 losses ahead of us.

Despite the roster construction last season, it was watching Pope coach that was so frustrating. I am not saying he can't coach, but he did a poor job last season and is doing a poor job building a roster in comparison to our competition. Basically, death by a thousand papercuts until we reset and rebuild for the '27-'28 season.
