Interesting to note:

The United States was producing 13.58 million barrels per day in 2025, about 16% of global crude supply. It was exporting roughly 4 million barrels per day of crude.

Iran shuts the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. April exports jumped to 4.9 million barrels per day, and May is tracking 5.2 million, an all time record. 28 supertankers are booked for May. Normally it is around 5.

Asian buyers that once depended on Hormuz are now turning to U.S. supply.

In some strange way, the Strait of Hormuz being blocked is actually the biggest payday U.S. oil has ever had.

I was reading that oil wells can’t just be stopped without harming them.

Essentially after about 10 days Iran runs out of places to store their oil.

At that time, they will be forced to stop pumping the oil. The only way to stop pumping is to fill the well with salt water which essentially kills any future use of the well.

So Iran has about 10 days or else they will start permanently closing their oil wells. Real damage will be done.

Iran is stewed. It’s in their interest to negotiate, but they aren’t going to get far.

Assuming this is true (which would be pretty off brand for you), you get how Iran suddenly not producing any more oil would be devastating for the global economy, right?

Economy is ok right now and they aren’t selling anything.

I hope they make the right choice.

The rest of the world will be ok. Iran will cease to exist. Their choice I suppose.

I could see a scenario where it actually causes the market to be flooded with oil

Imagine if you have water coming out of a faucet and you can’t stop it.

If the supply has been artificially constrained, then that would imply that prices would come down when the restraint is removed

I’m not saying that is what is going to happen, but we have seen really weird things happen in the oil market. Such as prices going -$30 a barrel during Covid.

that, on it's face, would make sense economically. The question though is how much capacity from other oil producing countries is available to fill the void. I have no idea, but I'd think trump does.

90% of iran's oil goes to China...and, according to reports, the Chinese pay a below market rate for this oil. If they have to go on the market and pay normal rates, it would have a significant impact on their economy.

And that sudden demand on the global supply would drive prices through the roof.

A US-sanctioned tanker linked to China is making its way through the Strait of Hormuz, testing President Donald Trump’s naval blockade

I don’t have Bloomberg right now, so this WSJ article might repeat a lot, but it was a good read imo

Reports that Iran only has 12 to 22 days until they run out of storage. You can bet your bottom dollar some kind of a deal will be reached before then. That is their livelihood.

Lets check oil futures shall we?
how are our oil reserves doing? https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/gen...push-old-system-to-breaking-point/ar-AA27NpwL
Hmmm. Im guessing we Taco out of this war by August.
What was it that Iran did to break the treaty? Was it retaliate because Israel keeps on bombing even though that was part of the agreement?

This is the situation our intelligence agencies warned the Trump administration about and why they advised NOT to follow Bibi's advice and that it was all BS.
But Trump went with his gut. Here we are. Theres not an outcome that doesn't involve either: Surrendering to Iran, OR murdering hundreds of thousands of civilians.
What a pickle this douche got us into.

The middle eastern countries have looked to the US as an umbrella for protection, by defence purchases and US troops on the ground.

This screw up with Iran and failure to provide the expected protection has have significantly eroded this bond

Not to mention the Saudi rift with UAE.

"The Boy Who Cried Wolf" is an ancient fable about a shepherd boy who repeatedly tricks nearby villagers by falsely claiming a wolf is attacking his flock. When an actual wolf finally appears, the villagers ignore his pleas for help, resulting in his sheep being eaten

Houthi forces fired ballistic missiles toward Saudi Arabia's southern region on July 13, 2026, reportedly targeting Abha International Airport. The attack came after the Houthis accused Saudi-led forces and the recognized Yemeni government of striking the runway at Sanaa International Airport to prevent an Iranian plane from landing.

does any body KNOW, is this how trump ran his business. He can't seem to make a decision and stick to it. This on again off again, ceasefire, blockade makes little sense.

  • IRAN ESCALATION: Trump announced the U.S. would impose a 20% fee on cargo shipped through the Strait of Hormuz as reimbursement for securing the waterway. The announcement comes as the U.S. launched more strikes on Iran yesterday as both countries vie for control of the critical shipping route.

So what happens when Iran says they will charge on 7.5%? Are countries going to support them to save some cash?

Do you have any idea how absolutely s.hit you have to be at business to bankrupt a f.ucking casino?
At that time, connections to russia mafia for concrete and regulatory approvals were a way of business in NY

Guessing all those Republican Congressional candidates in tight races are gonna just love this latest blunder.🤣🤣
You mean like MMM? She'll concentrate on TrAnz KiDZ and how she's single handedly saving rural health care in Iowa by keeping one urgent care clinic in Lee County open.
