….thats how ridiculous CBB is right now. I thought Louisville’s Athletic Department was in financial trouble?

So, they have $5 million dollars to give some decent, but not great basketball player $5 million dollars to play 1 season?

So, as soon as Pope lands a top portal dude, the only thing the ”media” will talk about is how much Kentucky had to spend. Is this what ”College” basketball is now? And why do we still care?

At least in the pro’s, they have to stay for the duration of their contract. Hell, we had a player collecting millions last season who just sat the bench the month of March fully healthy to play.

Hopefully the executive order will eventually reign this Wild West insanity in.

It won’t, they will challenge it across the nation. Until Congress makes it a law, they won’t be able to enforce anything.

You're putting the cart before the horse. Pope has to actually get a top recruit and time is not his side.

Actually, none of us would mind it if we had a coach who knew how to win within this new system.

Yet, we don't, so posters like you eventually start threads about how "broken" and unfair the system is.

It's not really unfair at all. The fans are there. The resources are there. The money is there.

It's just that the coach isn't there. Not at Kentucky, where we've got a coach who thinks Jesus and Satan are spiritual brothers talking to families about cutting down nets in the spring of 1996.

We have a horrible coach, one that you've defended for most of his regime here.

Until that changes, we will continue to be the losers who are chosen last in dodgeball, and you will keep posting about how unfair it all is.

I keep up on this board and all, though I only watched five games this year, most of these kids are lazy, entitled and couldn’t care about anything other than themselves.

I think your post is solid. I am confused about a couple things. The players from this years team were very complimentary of Coach Pope. How can that be if he's such a bad coach?
How much is the JMI contract impacting us?

The players are also people. These people don't want to come across as jerks in the media.

Pope pumpers have a mental illness. Period, there’s no other explanation. Very sad for them, they will continue to suffer and not seek treatment for it, because their pride and egos are what’s causing this mental illness.
