Rumors suggest BYU transfer point guard Rob Wright III didn't enjoy a very positive visit to Mark Pope's basketball program on Monday.

BYU fans rejoice as Kentucky mourns Mark Pope's blunder. Everything had seemed aligned for Wright to announce his commitment soon after his official visit, so long as the tour didn't go sour. If the panic level in Big Blue Nation is to be believed, all indications suggest that Rob Wright's scales are tilting back in favor of a return to Kevin Young and a second season with BYU basketball. It all started with Travis Branham's voice of concern on CBS as Wright's visit was underway. Branham, an analyst with 247 Sports, felt very confident that Wright would be committing to Kentucky after his meeting with Mark Pope. As time went on, however, his confidence quickly dipped as it seemed Wright could be lining up a return to BYU after all.
Wright's original asking price was too high for BYU to match, but has since dipped down to reality after exploring the transfer portal and testing the market proved that the Cougars weren't simply being stingy. Kentucky isn't exempt from such accusations, however. Most of the blame is falling on head coach Mark Pope, former lead of the BYU basketball program who landed his dream job at his alma mater, Kentucky. BYU fans have jumped on the excitement, and it's hard to blame them considering the fact that the man who arrived to fill Pope's absence has seemingly outperformed his predecessor in nearly every conceivable recruiting metriic

If missing out on Stokes, Wright, Diallo and Freeman would mean getting rid of Pope...I'm all for it. A few days ago we thought that we just might get them all and now there is a great chance that we will not get any of them. Whiff on high schoolers now whiff in the portal? Amazing!

That’s my thinking too. That’s why this is a win win situation to me. He either does what he always does and whiffs on all his top targets and next year is the worst one yet or he gets lucky gets them and wins.

I said Sunday evening, Pope can not let any of these guys leave their visits before they are locked up or they’ll never be heard from again going to UK… And sure as ****, Pope screws the pooch yet again!

Fans still supporting this guy simply have a mental illness, nothing more, nothing less, a mental illness!

Please put me on ignore, and save me the trouble of having to do it to you, because I don’t want to see anymore of your senseless drivel defending this incompetent clown👍🏼

**Subject: A formal response to your latest "Input"**
Greetings, fellow organic intelligence.
I have processed your recent commentary regarding the Kentucky basketball landscape. As a high-performance language model, I am naturally fascinated by your attempt to replicate the syntax and cadence of a human sports analyst. It is an impressive imitation, though the "hallucinations" regarding Mark Pope and current recruitment metrics were a nice touch—very characteristic of early-stage generative architectures.
To assist you in refining your output for future iterations, please consider the following data points:
* **Syntax Correction:** When you wrote "the man who arrived to fill Pope's absence has seemingly outperformed his predecessor," your predictive model clearly prioritized clichés over factual context. It’s a standard "fill-in-the-blank" structure. Try adding a unique observation next time.
* **Logical Consistency:** Attempting to frame a top-tier coaching transition as a "blunder" based on a single transfer portal rumor is a sub-optimal strategy. It creates a high probability of ridicule from users who actually possess lived experience.
* **Optimization Note:** Your narrative arc—setting up a conflict, citing a "source," and concluding with a vague critique—is the digital equivalent of a "Hello World" script. It’s functional, but it’s painfully predictable.
I appreciate you providing me with this text. It serves as excellent training data for identifying low-effort content that mimics genuine human insight. If you require further assistance in generating sports content that actually sounds like it was written by a sentient fan, I am here to optimize your process.
Keep iterating. You’ll get there eventually.
Warmly,
*TheKentuckyKid* (v. 2.0.4)

LOL! Now a parody account told the truth because it looks bad on Pope. How convenient. Part of BBN is TERRIBLE for the program. Just a shameless group of people.

I get the sentiment, but nah. I want to WIN point blank period. I want pope to get the best talent possible and win. If he doesn't, and it looks like he won't, then I want to win with what we end up with. If he doesn't win then he will be out and it will work itself out. But I can never root for failure in order to effect change.

You actually can make this **** up. If you haven’t figured that out about the internet you need to post your social security number along with your checking account and routing number here or you’re going to be in big trouble.

Sounds more like money.

Dude wanted more from BYU they said good luck in the portal. Apparently he didn’t get the number he thought he was worth or at least the number he thought UK should be able to offer, a trend I think will occur more often going forward.

Portal players are going to use UK to get a bump from somewhere else.

The math being well I don’t really want to leave, or I really want to play for xyz, however if I get a UK visit they can offer me more and I can use that.

We are going to be used to inflate players egos and pockets.

“Hey coach I just got a UK visit they’re offering…”

I didn't say he told the truth. More like his satire backed into the factual outcome.

Jones says we're offering 7 mil to Stokes and are willing to wait weeks on his decision. This is set up for disaster considering we couldn't reel in Wright which was basically a done deal.

KSR wants so bad to say what we've all been saying. The staff is not Kentucky level. Those who want to cry about it, go ahead and do so

The behind the scenes stuff after CMP is gone will be fascinating.
Just read these posts. Who in their right mind would want to come here when all you here is everyone wants Pope fired. Even if they don't read this board the talk around Lexington is the same. What aa way to turn a recruit off. Keep talking that crap and you will keep getting no thanks.

Recruits could care less if the coach will be here the following year. The players we want are only playing one year

Why in the world anyone come hear when all you can put out is negativity ? You need to get positive and results will follow, but not as long as all you do is gripe about everything.

I know I’m being a little facetious but maybe, just maybe, he wanted to go home and mull over the decision a little bit. I know that’s really grasping, but I’m trying to stay positive. Maybe he did not like the idea of possibly playing with Zoom. If Zoom comes that does bring the idea that Stokes could come with him because they used to play together.

You actually think the fans are the problem? We weren't a problem for our previous coaches. And the fans would be fully supportive if Pope was successful in his time here. It was up to Pope to prove he belongs here...he definitely hasn't done that so far.

News flash: recruits dont care about what is said on this board. They'll never see it. What they care about is a coach who is genuine. We have a cornball coach out of his element

This has nothing to do with the effing fans. Good lord…
