You mean list the number of times Cael recruited someone as a transfer who isn't a definitive upgrade over the recruit he had already? Because he's obviously recruited transfers in "over" roster members but those transfers are definitive upgrades and almost always have multiple years of eligibility. Max Dean won a title. Michael beard was never close. Greg kerkvliet won a title and was substantially better than Nevils. Rocco Welsh outplaced Zack ryder. All of those transfers also had a more than one year of eligibility. Truax wasn't brought in over a highly touted recruit, I don't think at least.

The only other D1 wrestler on that team was Kueter.
As for the other part of the convo, it’s the coach’s job to put the best team on the mat. Stop complaining about Cael “recruiting over”. So dumb.
Cale Seaton also on that team, but I don't think he is leaving SDSU.
Schubert- Oklahoma 174, says he will wrestle 165 next year.

Is it really a problem if you are told all along that we try to recruit the best guys and you will need to compete for a starting spot? I can't believe a recruit would not be told that, and if if not told that, they would understand that they need to compete for the position. If they did any research during their recruiting they would see that. Other coaches would have certainly told them they could get recruited over at PSU. So they know coming in and choose to come and compete as they believe they are the best. Big nothing burger that other are brought in. Beauty is that these days they can transfer right out and find a new home easily.
Unless its Nasir thought if he was gonna leave he would of done it the same time as Jordan williams but yah never now these days
If you aren't willing to compete for your spot, I highly doubt you are going to Iowa, PSU, OSU, or Okie St. That is just a given at those programs imo, regardless of your stature or NIL deal. If you want a spot given to you, you go to a smaller non-contender school and probably won't have to worry about being recruited over, even if you fall short of expectations. If you expect to be the best, you have to beat the rest, so guys with that mentality aren't scared of competition in the room at their weight. That is a champion's mentality and those are the guys that seek out the powerhouse programs.
In Gabe's interview he talked about how Nasir felt like family with the team so I don't think he's going anywhere. And I don't want him to because I liked what I saw down the stretch after his surgery.
Would be amazing if we got him, would help Nasir redshirt a recover from his hands. Plus, he can stay after graduation and wrestle internationally while helping the middle weights. Especially all those young studs coming in.
