I actually don't know how any real Kentucky fan could be in favor of Pope right now. How much more evidence do they need in order to see that he is not cut out for coaching this level of basketball? He might do great at the HS level, where recruiting is less prominent.
I at least respect the kid for not taking a free trip to UK just to drive up the UCONN price. It’s time to move on from Pope right now. He’s apparently toxic. If we fire him tomorrow perhaps a portal season could be saved. If not, it will be no different. I wanted him to have the chance to fix things because I do think he can coach in game. He’s not capable of fixing the things that are broken.
I mean if it's between Hurley and Poop to trust on developing you and maximizing your pro prospects, who the **** would you pick? The guy who is respected across the basketball world or Mark ******* Poop (net total 6 points from all NBA alumni). Even a 2M or so difference in one time NIL is minor compared to projected career earnings.
