I recently got the Shingles vaccine. Had to get 2 a couple of months apart. Made my arm feel like it had been in a bar fight without me. But I'm told Shingles sucks in a big way.
Also, studies have shown the vaccine can lower your risk of Alzheimers .
Also, it's a jerk move to celebrate sickness in anyone.

True story: When I moved to my new community I saw a billboard that had the message: "Need Shingles?" with a phone number. I immediately thought to myself, "Good grief! Why would anyone need that horrible disease. I had them. They were horrible!" Then I realized that it was a roofing company! I guess that was my senior moment.

Got them in a combat environment, had no clue initially what the hell was happening. I was no **** given the highest level of OXY with six refills, IIRC, one prescription was three months, never took a single pill.

That is a crazy story. I have no doubt shingles are absolutely miserable, especially during combat. But that just goes to show most doctors are just drug dealers anymore, and absolutely negligent/complicit in people’s addictions.

Yeah, his exact words to me “hey brother, I’ve hooked you up” as he gave me the prescription, he meant well, obviously, though great way to get someone addicted.

I knew three people who had it before the Shringrx vaccine. They were each in awful shape for a few months. In the eyes is the worst.

Anyone who's had chickenpox & eligible for the vaccine - age 50 & older I believe - is playing with fire by not getting the shots. My reactions weren't as severe as your describe, but there was a good deal of soreness. But so what.

Several years ago there was a guy on here who stated that kneeling during the anthem was just as bad as drunk driving. I will put this up there with that level of bad take.

If youre able to resist the itching it heals up ans youre fine in 1/2 the time . My uncle had it but hes got that old school will power and didn't itch and healed fine . Known folks that itched like a bandit and still got the scars - easier said than done but if you can resit the itch its so much better an faster.

I think im immune as I was immune to Chicken Pox. Was around Chivken pox alot as a kid with my gamily and never got it . I think both are related but unsure.

If you haven’t had them, the best way I can describe the discomfort is that it would be like getting a tattoo on a bad sunburn that has a bad case of poison ivy. Just a mix of itching and burning that seems like it will never go away.

Good for you. I found my best friend dead of a fentanyl overdose March 2020. He thought he was taking Oxy. I got hooked on them from a doctor and damn near ruined my life in just two years of taking them.

I've done pills most of my life.. Only did one OC once.. A buddy had an 80 and i had gram white stuff.. Made 2 lines with each and done them together.. Was the best buzz i ever had in 52 years.. I said nope,, not doing that pill ever again.. That was back in 90s when an 80mg was like $120-$140 each..

Damn. I'm glad you got off them. I was getting OXY 40's and people would offer 60 bucks, and females would offer themselves. I was so addicted to them I never sold one nor took advantage of a female, not once. A DUI got me sent to rehab and I never did one again. I won't even take any in the emergency room when I got hit head on by a drunk driver in 2022 and broke my arm in two places, one a compound fracture, separated my shoulder, broke my wrist and needed 40+ stitches. Proud you recognized it from the start. There were 18 seniors on my high school team. 3 are dead from overdoses. Not to mention the dozen or so I went to school with. I graduated in 2002.

Stopped doing them around 2012 and i still show withdrawal symptoms from them today.. They hard come off of.. Im 52 and have 0 friends left that i was close to throughout life.. About half OD'd and other half suicide.. I did get ahold of some California xanax back around 2018 that were dirty.. Was basically od'n and kept throwing up.. Body fought it off.. Think i have some ozzy Osbourne in my 😂

Bro the VA literally prescribes me120 blue footballs a month and has since 2020 for PTS and insomnia. 4 a day. I used to be on 5 a day.

Bro you took the equivalent of 30 footballs a day and are still here? How? Seriously I wanna know.

I was getting ready to call you a fool for buying ANYTHING off the street. Any "perc" on the street today is fentanyl. That's exactly how my best friend died and get this, another of his brothers died just 6 months later 15 feet from where my buddy did from the same thing. The final brother just got 25 years in federal prison for distribution, conspiracy, criminal enterprise and a host of other charges. He didn't stop at a stop sign, that's what led to that. But at least there coming from a Dr. Can't believe a doctor today would even write them.

My mom fell and broke her humerus and they gave her 5 Norco hydrocodone 5mg/325 and she's 70. So you've gotta have some legit chronic pain right? Dads prescribed fentanyl patches for his back.
