If we don't get Wright or Stokes

I'm out. Sports are meant to be entertaining, and I don't really have any interest in this era of the Mark Pope, mid-major, Kentucky basketball that will just end in double digit loss seasons with 0 star players to keep me interested. It's supposed to be fun, but watching Pope whiff every top player, fumble the media and make Kentucky just the most stale, watered down version it could be is not something I'm gonna spend my extra time doing. "The system" is not fun. At Kentucky you need a system AND great players, that's why people watch. They want to see future NBA stars playing for the biggest brands and the best coaches. If we don't land multiple top players, I have no interest in this next season.

I don’t know whose fault it is and I’m not gonna act like I do. Neither does anyone else on here. All I do know is if we miss on these guys we won’t be worth a sh.it next year and I won’t even start investing any time in it.

It will not be a repeat disaster if we don't land Wright or Stokes. It will be a bigger disaster, because it gets harder to see how we have even as much talent as this year. Who replaces the scoring of Oweh, and Aberrdeen? What player replaces the outside shooting of Chandler? Forget about upgrades at those positions, it's looking less likely by the day that we find suitable replacements.

Open the fridge, nothing to eat.
Open the pantry, nothing to eat.
Lower standards and repeat.

Apply that strategy to Pope's recruiting. I fell for it last year. Never again.

I support the UK Coach until they’re not the coach. But damn Mark Pope, you gotta get a win. You need to make a statement about what is happening and why we shouldn’t be worried.

Radio silence just feeds the trolls and the rumors. You need to speak!

Eyeroll. Sounds like Calipari’s press agent wrote this. I think there’s a decent sized group of fans that could care less about the NBA and who will be or is playing in it. Maybe not for the players, maybe not for the AD, maybe not for the coaches, but for the fans, it’s still about the front of the jersey.
Bring in mid major guys with heart and some pride in being part of this program. Those guys won’t be short of fans.

I agree with most everything except when you said the system works at a place like Utah. BYU currently has a better brand than us. I'm ready for tha attackers who come to say otherwise just because we have a rich tradition. The current brand BYU is way better than current UK.

Don't overreact. We are all on this beautiful journey together. Once you realize that the space outside the basket is just as valid as the space inside the basket, you won't get stressed over not having good players or losing games.

Or something like that...

Okay, I've seen this strawman before, "Only recruit freshmen to try and put them into the NBA" is not the same thing as "Kentucky should have great players." They are 2 very different things for the 100th time. Not everything is about Cal. And the mid-major thing is fine except they will have a ceiling and Kentucky shouldn't have to settle for mid-major players with heart when they can get elite players with heart. This is all just mental gymnastics when it's not that complicated. Kentucky, should have great players, who play hard. If Pope can't get great players and he can't get his players to play hard (like last season) then what are we talking about?

Speak for yourself and not others. I know i am not alone when i say this. I am a diehard UK fan i love just about everything about UK. But i am not a Pope fan. I thought it was a bad hire when it happened. But i thought UK was big enough to overcome a bad hire and top players would still come to UK. With that said. Once a player leaves UK, I couldn't care less about that player. I do not watch the NBA nor will i follow their NBA playing days. As you talked about fun in your post. The NBA is just no fun to watch.

You can have the front of the jersey all you want. Anyone with any shred of competitiveness in them wants banners. Those are hung on the backs of dudes that will eventually play in the NBA. All elite teams have elite players.

II agree. Pope must get a minimum of 2 studs at any cost. You can’t go into next season with a full team of second tier talent. It will be a replay of this season if not worse

Listen I’m as negative and disgusted with the past year and current trajectory of Kentucky basketball as anyone, and I can excuse being dramatic and saying stuff like ‘I’m out’ and ‘I’m done with pope’, lord knows I say stuff like that when I’m pissed and I’ve been pissed quite a lot for the past year but if you actually did stop watching the team for any reason, I have no respect for that.

im a UK fan no matter what. I fully expect us to be awful next year and for us to fire this bum *** coach that we have but he is NOT Kentucky basketball and I will always watch and support this team.

but yeah it looks like we are going to suck butt and that is squarely on the back of our incompetent, greedy, smug and sniveling douche of an athletics director.

I'm sure I'm not in the minority when I write this: after your first two sentences, I tapped out of reading the rest of your silly post.

You sound like you don't have a clue how this works. No surprise since it looks like you just created an account.

I'll make sure not to waste any more time on your posts in the future.

Who will replace Branden Garrison?
