Should. I don't know who would pay that kind of money for 6 points a game? He's a solid player. Not a superstar.
Not sure how much their willing to pay him to stay is the tricky question or have they found another player of his caliber.

Curtis and Jacobson back as well. I think people are sleeping on Curtis.
Who is sleeping on Curtis? He has a lot to prove and improve in his game. Fred did seem to rely on him much at all, even when we had injuries.
Let's hope the we can pull a few more players via the portal that can bang inside otherwise we'll be in a little trouble. Berke couldn't be counted on to score much most nights but at least he would hold his own fighting for the rebound. As for Leo, the staff had better be shadowing that kid daily working on increasing his calories, weight training and basic basketball skills inside. He is the definition of a project. Not sure if our training table has it but maybe they could fly in some of Leo's favorites from Iceland like Hakarl (Fermented shark) and Pylsur (icelandic hot dog).
Getting a little worried we might have to settle for some lesser options in the transfer portal. It seems pretty quiet. The big guy from Boise and the Point Guard from Utah both left without committing and are taking other visits.
People keep saying he needs to add weight. He is 10 lbs lighter and 1" shorter than Mara. Mara is the darling of CBB right now and I haven't heard one person say Mara needs to bulk up. Curtis never looked like he didn't belong, which is quite a feat for a freshman big man in the Big 10. He just needs experience, like most freshman.

Yeah, who would want a guy that put up 15 on an elite 8 team, 8 on the national champs, and 11 on a team who advanced to the 2nd round. What a dud for a backup.
Getting a big guy who can drive and draw fouls would be good/
Obviously Leo doesn’t have a lot of tape to go elsewhere. But Fred must think he is going to help otherwise he would encourage him to leave and drop a level.I thought he played all right against Michigan when Mast was sick and he play against Vandy in OKC and had a dunk .
Curtis needs to get in the weight room this summer, without question he has plenty of potential to help us next year.

Sorry, I don't agree, the few times that I did see him play he looked uneasy despite the fact he did make two buckets at Michigan. Regarding his weight as compared to Mara that may well be true but the problem with at comparison is the space between the ears and understanding not just what to do but how to do it, Mara is quite a bit ahead in that department. I stand by my belief that if he wants to be a contributor next season he will need to build/bulk up and develop at least 2 inside moves he can do in his sleep against pressure man/

As I had said about a month ago in another thread, everyone thinks the roster needs to go 8-10 deep of 20-10-10 guys. Our 1st team all B1G averaged under 19 points a game. Lots of P4 schools would love to have a reliable role player who can get 15-20 minutes a game and do what is needed for their role each night.

Good call and I’m definitely not one of those. I just say every portal dude who is white would be a good fit.
Essegian and Jacobsen are solid and important pieces. Essegian is streaky and is grey off the bench. Neither are point guards. We need at least one out of the portal. Two would be better.
