I'm with Trump. From what I heard, he is saying one transfer only and then another transfer if you graduate. Don't need this yearly free agency crap.
Second thing is you only get to play four years. Redshirt? Fine. But I heard a rumor about the NCAA proposing five years of eligibility. That's dumb as hell. And no more professional players being allowed back to school to play out their eligibility. It's becoming a f'n joke.
The NCAA has been an F’n joke for a lot longer than this… shoot before NIL and paying athletes SEC teams were openly paying players with the kids posting the money on socials and nothing was done.
I liked Trumps starting points in his EO, and part of that was 5 years of eligibility, and I can get on board with that. It’s basically 5 years now, or 8 or 10 or however many schools and players can sue for. But if you go by just the basic eligibility rules it’s 4 with a redshirt, and during that redshirt you can play up to 3 games? Or is it 4 now? I can’t remember…
So just get rid of that redshirt season all together and say you have 5 years of eligibility no more, I think after their sophomore year, they can put their name in the draft, if they’re drafted they can’t go back to college, if not drafted then they can go back. If they implemented something like that then, I’d like to see the NCAA say you can just pull your name out from the draft all they way til 1 April after that you’re staying in the draft for all 7 rounds. That gives the NFL a clear picture of who’s still in the draft and makes them draft based on talent in the last rounds instead of who they think they can get cheaper as a UDFA
