So Duke went ahead and played the Citadel twice on Sunday to make sure they won't run into the .500 rule. Right now we are 2 spots out in the rankings. Pending all other results, if we beat VT/Clemson and lose to ND, we are the 4th to last team in.

I don’t know if Clemson was missing players, but we beat them pretty handily on March 20 in CH. they won the doubles point but we won 3-6 in straight sets and we were leading on the first two courts.

Here's a fun one...if we win we are still the 6th to last team in.

If we lose...we're actually the last team in. That likely won't hold up with NCAAs not being picked until the 27th + bid stealers

So today's match does get a little interesting, because Notre Dame is only in the low 20s, we do risk taking a small penalty by losing today that other teams around us (#47 Cal vs #4 UVA, #45 Duke vs #5 Wake) do not.

Once again if all the favorites for the matches currently on the collegetennisranks site win, we'll be the 4th to last team in.

As of right now we are the 4th to last team in, Ivy league matches around us will matter Princeton is 8th to last in, Yale 2nd, Penn last, Harvard is the 3rd team out

HS Recruit:
Lachlan Gaskell m FL. was a top 10 recruit for much of high school but has dipped his senior year

Transfers:
Will Mayew (brother of freshman Ian Mayew) was the preseason #47 player at Louisville this year, out injured. Presumably will be on our roster next year as a senior:


Sebastian Sec: ITA ranked #99 player in the fall, graduated from Princeton and DNP in Spring. Will have 1 or 2 years of eligibility remaining




Eligibility remaining in our starting 6
  1. JR Chris Xu (9-11) ranked #125 by ITA UTR 13.14
  2. XXXX (10-9 Roan Jones will graduate) ranked #95 by ITA, UTR 13.30
  3. SO Ian Mayew (12-7) UTR 13.43
  4. SR Neils Ratiu (8-1) UTR 13.28
  5. XXXX (8-1 Constantinos Djakouris will graduate) UTR 13.13
  6. SO Kase Schinnerer (6-4) UTR 12.69
JR Anthony Wright will also return, he was 7-2 across the 5th and 6th spots, UTR 13.00m and plays in our #1 doubles.

This of course assumes no departures, which almost never happens. But conversely, we also have usually made meaningful acquisitions in the offseason.

But all things equal, we should be able to produce the same solid depth as last year, but still lack that star power at the #1 and #2 spots, unless Gaskell can come in and produce (unlikely, his UTR is 12.x) or we acquire a star in the off season.

The last few years we have had our #1 player just disappear from our roster before the season started for various reasons.

Would be a very worthy achievement given where the roster was last year. Have really enjoyed following this team this year. They’ve had tons of 4-3 matches and came out on top in many. I think they deserve to get in, could scare some pretty good teams.

Wow what an absolutely **** draw. Michigan State just won the B1G Title, and is the 1st team out of the host lines. Not to mention the person that clinched the B1G title for Michigan State is former commit Matt Forbes.
