Me paying? I'm paying nothing. I'm just being silly and falsely argumentative here.

I hate all of this early season griping, and the "look at how this guy is doing" posts, when we leave out Pete being absolutely awful to start the season.

Some facts.
Braves lead the division at 9-6. Big surprise.
Phils 1.5 games back, Mets 2 games back.

Most dominant teams in NL right now are Dodgers at 11-3 (big surprise) and those "lowly" Pirates at 9-5.

Mets fans are like Rutgers football fans. Fans think their team may (or is) better than it actually is and look down their noses at smaller market teams. Mets and Rutgers fans also tend to wallow in their own miserable bubble without looking at what is going on with other teams in their division (or city).

Even the team across town that we shall not name is 8-6, having lost 4 in a row including losing 2 of 3 from the lowly A's.

What does all of this mean. I have no idea. We'll see where we are at in several weeks.

The amount of suck on this team is astounding
Vientos tried to fool you again …another putrid 0-16 slump , let me correct that , it’s not a slump it’s just the standard 6-7 game crap fest vientos does

Lindor better hit and the team better not go 1-5 on the road trip or it’s going to get ugly in the stands for Lindor and the rest of the team the next time they are at home

The “it’s early “crowd is still there but it’s shrinking while the anger and now more then ever dislike for this team is growing

Had no idea he was "with" the Mets again. But I don't keep up on the minor league rosters.

I guess you don't read all the posts in this thread either. It was brought up here. Even though we bicker a lot here the factual information is always posted from small to large. It's a great thread for all Mets info.

I agree about it being a great thread for Mets info, but I don't study every name on the minors reporting. Maybe I should spend less time reading the bickering (which is almost always the draw on social media) and more time reading about the future (minors) when the present does not look or feel great. I appreciate your posts.

Pete batting at Mendoza levels doesn’t shock me at all - and he chose to leave for greener pastures. On the flip, a lifetime .263 hitter crushing an average at Ted Williams levels after being kicked out the door by trade does.

The transaction was brought up here. Tommy Pham was in no minors report as a 10+ year vet that's all.

Why do you post the random social media bickering from "Mets fans" on social media here?Don't quite get that unless you like the bickering.

The start of the season isn't great but it's April 12. There's really no concern until at least maybe July 4.

The Pham post was one post, and nobody responded. Missed it. Forgive me. I don't parse over every single post on this thread.

That question could be flipped back at you about social media why not? It gives some sort of pulse of how fans on social media feel about certain situations and transactions. I filter out the really bad stuff, and I post 1-3 social media posts per week.

Pham has a reputation (fair or not) of being a clubhouse cancer. Maybe he will prove the doubters wrong, but this seems like an odd move to bring him up. On the other hand, the offense has been lifeless, scoring an average of 1.5 runs over the last 12 games, so why not?

I said nothing about concern about the season. The Gerber and Pham moves are a little concerning, though. Maybe they will work out.

Tommy Pham is an offensive upgrade over Tyrone Taylor in a right hand platoon. Short term, he will be more valuable than Ronny Mauricio, who as we have discussed has no role. Then when Soto returns, we'll see.

I wouldn't call him a clubhouse cancer, but reportedly he is a clubhouse disruptor. Which could be good.

I don't know why we need the musings of random dummy Mets fans on twitter but that's just me.

Let's hope the team turns it around quickly even with the tough Dodgers coming up.

Some detail. Had no idea what the post was about bc had no idea who Joey Gerber is. Not all of us are up on every name on roster and every player in league

Reactions from Mets fans seem to be WTF. @cubuffsdoug_rivals , we have another Stearns fan out there!

Seems Mets fans fell like RU hoops fans with our portal haul so far

I see you founf a fairly recent photo of Joey Gerber. I found one too but it is somewhat dated.

There was very little mentioned about the Pham signing...easy to miss.
Your posts with the various social media- is fun and worth being in here even if there are timesI don't agree with what it says.
Pham- just one more thing that shows Stearns is full of @@@@ Run prevention and clubhouse. Aren't these the big concerns Stearns was addressing. But let's bring in the biggest cancer in MLB and not bring back Marte. And almost everyone on the team considered Marte the true captain.
And you have been far from negative about the season. You have been sickenly pro Stearns lol

It was reported that Pham said the Mets team he played on previously had the worst work ethic of any team he's ever been a part of. I myself don't think that is a bad thing at all to call something like that out.

If you think I'm always 100% pro Stearns which I'm not I really don't like this Pham move.

Good thing wins and losses from the early season never come into play for the final record. This is just a really bad team right now. And for guys to even reach their normal type years- they all will have to be lights out. We have no power, no contact, we can't run bases, we can't field, we don't play fundamentals, And if Peralta, McLean or Holmes isn't starting, we are screwed. And even when they start- they better go 7 innings of shutout ball and hope we score at least 2.
Good thing our manager is sharp as a tack.

I haven't watched an inning of Mets baseball in about a week. I was away for spring break, and then away over the weekend, and now on the west coast I won't bother.
This team has made me one of the biggest Mets fans alive, to completely apathetic in about 15 games... it's incredible. Stearns took a team that was 2 wins from the WS, and turned them into a laughing stock. This team is awful

You know you're forbidden to say anything negative about the Mets. Stearns is the greatest GM/President ever in the MLB. He's the blueprint on how to overplay you intelligence compared to others. When you think you're the smartest person in the room, you're usually not even close. Milwaukee seems to be fine without boy genius. Meanwhile , the Mets struggled with one poor decision after another made by Stearns. We haven't even mentioned the manager.

Stearns only good year with the Met's was his first year...And he completely got lucky with the Starters all having good years. But, the irony is that boy genius thought he figured it all out. So- he over pays Manaea to come back and thinks he can figure out Montas and pay him some $20 mil even though no one else wanted him.
And he has pretty much failed at everything besides that. I sort of feel that is why Benge has such a long leash...Kid looks like he will have a long career but if he was a pre- Stearns draftee - he would be in the minors right now.

And let's look at other things- we all know he didn't really want Soto...
He brought back Pete on a show me contract- which he didnt even want to do- so- Pete shows him...But Stearns dont want him. He prefers to pay a $20 mil 1B that has never played 1B.
He wants Nimmo and McNeil gone.
So- great- trade Nimmo for an aging 2B who makes more than Nimmo each year. Trades McNeil and pays a good chunk of his salary while doing it for nothing.
Nimmo looks to be on his way to a career year and McNeil is hitting really well. And let's not discount that McNeil can play pretty much most of the positions on the field.
His trade for Robert actually looks good- so, early returns- he gets that one right.
But lets bring in Bichette to play a position he has never played before and pretty much pay him $10 mil more than market price.
Run prevention- Nimmo/Robert/Soto is better than Soto/Robert/Benge,Baty
Alonso, Bichette, Baty,Lindor is better than Polanco,Vientos/Semien/Bichette/Lindor
McNeil off the bench to fill in mult positions is better than anyone we currently have on the bench.

And the GM has to take responsibility for the manager. And it sounded like he played games with the one coach we should have figured out how to retain instead of letting him go to the Braves with a chip on his shoulder. And maybe there is a reason Counsel did not want to work with the man anymore...

I'm in a different boat, but a different reason. Got some really horrific news about a close friend. Puts sports fandom in perspective. Sports can (and sometimes does) bring joy in the dark moments in life. No joy to be found in Mets fandom currently. Will be checking out for a bit, and can only hope brighter days are ahead where Rutgers sports and Mets fans can find some joy in watching. In the meantime, it's time to turn to other passions for some happiness-music and mountain biking.

Can only show family and friends love and support.
Paid sports teams that are supposed to make us happy, deserve fans' rage!!! I have been measured and holding back. We'll see where we are at in a month! Hope everything works out with your son.
