Pope can't afford to wait 1–2 weeks. We have to move on with building a team. Roster construction is totally different with him than without him. We can't set aside 25% of our NIL in hopes he comes here.

They will need to find some under the radar depth pieces. But they could still be formidable with 3-4 studs.
Yes I believe it will be very similar to this past season for them, ACC is still weak compared to SEC, Big 10 and Big 12 so they run it back with 8-11 losses. I don't see them as a real threat even if they land Murauskas. Top 25 sure but not a contender. I just need us to seal the deal and make some waves, would be the first time I've been excited about us having a chance to win it all in quite some time.

The additional money to pay Stokes is already set aside in a separate collective from donors. He won't stop us from paying for others for the most part.

I don't think Pope can wait on Stokes for one or two weeks to make a decision. He has to make a decision today or soon. If Pope holds spot and budget, it may kill the entire roster build.
Apparently we have a seperate fund for Stokes, the other spots are in the actual NIL pool. So even if we miss that frees up a ton of money, but it depends on who is left. They could be some fringe NBA guys though that would be like a month out we could really make a play for in that case if it happens.

I personally wanted Murauskas, he fits Pope’s system well.

I actually love the two following lineups:

Wright
Wilkins
Stokes
Freeman/Goode
Moreno

Wright
Brown
Wilkins
Freeman/Goode
Moreno

Either of those with a strong bench would be a massive improvement and offensively fun to watch.
For sure. I like it.

Me too, we actually have the highest offer on him but he hasn't shown a ton of interest toward us which is odd to me but it happens. I'm trying to work magic and get Milan Momcilovic to give us a look and come back to college.
Yeah he would be my number one pick.

Slight problem with that is there aren’t many(any?) SFs that will be making that stay/go NBA decision.

The noteworthy guys in that bucket are Graves/Milan at the PF spot. If Pope doesn’t have a clear plug and play SF or PF a month from now people will be beside themselves lol

Has the Diallo ship sailed even if we don't get Stokes? I'd love to have him

Anyone know is Stokes and Rob’s visits going to overlap with Donnie’s at all? Or are they leaving around the time he gets in? Would be pretty cool to have all of them talk with eachother about the prospect of teaming up here

If you believe this, then Tyran is already on his way out of town. Since Rob didn’t get in until 6 last night, it’s presumable he overlaps with Donnie some

I'm pretty close to him, with working with Iowa State for 2 years. I think he may be taking the NBA Route but he's most likely early to mid 2nd round and college would pay him more money.
Tell him what’s up, get him over here.

No, we are definitely still in the mix, I just prefer if we get Wright to get stronger shooters around him is all. Wright and Diallo both are a possibility but we should know within a day or two IMO.
I still really want stokes, but I can't help get a tiny bit giddy thinking about Wright, Diallo, and Wilkins at the 1, 2, and 3. Would be solid!

I've definitely mentioned it to him over the past week. That 2nd round tournament game was one of the biggest conflicts of interest for me ever. Lifelong Kentucky fan getting the competition mentally prepared for battle and halftime one on ones with players to prepare for second half. Call me Benedict Arnold I guess.

I don’t disagree. The look of your roster with Stokes is different than without. He is setting KU or UK up to have a real hole in their roster. I would move on and surround Wright with the best available transfer players plus the few returners.

No one will care if we sign the kids we are after
I will rejoice of we do, but I am skeptical. I also might point out that 10 of the top 20 ranked portal guys are already gone. I have gotten to the point with UK basketball where results are what I am interested in, so I will wait and see

Yrah but if we get the other 10
