I love baseball. It’s my second favorite sport here. We have done great things and reached heights that we could never dream of in other sports. There is a major issue out there with those people and the entitlement they have. I could stomach it if they paid market value for their seats, but those 50k a year making cocky 17ers act like it’s their birthright to be there. The football team is paying for a couple of million dollars of their budget yearly because we refuse to put prices where they should be for those seats and any time someone mentions raising the prices they act like they are the only ones that could possibly know how to light a grill and give food away to other teams. It’s nauseating.
Interesting that someone would want one of the last a cool things accessible to the 50K a year fan and make it only available to the rich fans and corporate sponsors. It's fine as it is. Or maybe make it more accessible. God forbid the regular guy have anything. Last thing we need is for us regular folks to go at each other so that another corporate sponsor can take what little we have left.
There is a 100 year waiting list for tickets. Prices should be increased until that wait list is cut to almost none.

Having the most valuable piece of real estate on campus not turn a profit and then telling the sport that is already behind the 8 ball financially (football) to cover the baseball losses so a bunch of losers can feed opposing fans and players in the name of tradition is the most backwards Mississippi State BS I have ever seen. Also, State could triple the prices and there would be zero corporate in those spots. I’m tired of

Are you blaming LFL box holders, all they have done is pay what the athletic department has charged them yearly and outfield prices have increased yearly for the last 5 seasons, over $4,000 per year this season and they have said there will be yearly increases until 2030. That's when there will be companies buying them and it will look like a game in the Hump with no fans out there (especially in mid week games) because all we hear about that is companies buy the tickets and don't use them. And yes, LFL holders have to buy tickets too.
Chairback seating will be redone in 2029 but that's NOT going to provide additional seating at all, not one seat. Are you blaming those that have chairbacks now because all that they have done is pay what they were asked to do for their 10 year commitment. You will just whine and bit-ch even more when they add seating and complain about spending money on that too. What exactly is going to please you? You need to re-direct your butthurt to the athletic department and not to the people that you don't even know in the outfield and chairbacks.
I am very much blaming the athletic department for charging people like you way too little for premium seating. Me mentioning how arrogant your crowd is does not mean the school is not the main one to blame for people like you being able to afford ticket out there. When baseball can pay for itself without football subsidizing it, then charge what you want. But right now you people are 18 year old kids trying to tell mom amd dad what you will and will not do under their roof and the rest of us are sick of listening to your BS on why significantly raising prices in a sport with a ten mile long waiting list would be doomsday. I do not care if a sport who gets less viewers than 2 am infomercials has some midweek empty seats if it means the sport that pays the bill is not subsidizing it any more.
Hopefully they will use BC standing to keep them out of the hands of the corporations. Should be easy enough to do if we truly want to do it.

Not gonna lie, I don't particularly like the LFLoungers, mainly because I always get a weird look when I walk by. I feel your pain, it doesn't seem fair that they can carry on like that and nobody else ever gets a chance. Plus - yeah, they feed strangers before their own fellow fans. And yeah, they want to look cool on TV and be thought of in that way.

Just because a LFL has an annual donation of $4000 doesn't mean it has only cost LFL holders $4,000 dollars.
The one person/group I knew that has one, has given to MSU in many sports over decades just to have the privilege to give $4,000 per year for a LFL.

so, 90% of the folks in those rigs are the reason why there are rigs. They are the ones that took it to the next level by building rigs and hauling them in and out each year. There wouldn't be a lounge if it weren't for them. You are angry at them for enjoying a tradition, they basically built. I say they deserve that. If they had their rathers, they would still be in the homebuilt rigs and not what you see today. Just wondering, I never see anyone complain about the lofts?

Wait, what’s the $4,000 per year? Is that per seat? Or right to have a certain square footage? I’ve lived out of state 15 years and for my entire adult life with a salary so I haven’t tracked the history of this thing. I see it on TV but don’t think I’ve been in the LFL since 2013
It's 4,000 for the spot for the year. That is usually split 8 ways by members of the rig. So all in all it's 500 dollars per person for 33 homes games. So its basically 15 dollars a game, when general admission is 10.
They deserve the fist right of refusal for the tickets. They do not deserve to get to keep them for peanuts when there is a 10 mile long line of people willing to pay way more for them.

so, that just covers the rig, tickets are not included. Rumor is that they are going to continue to raise prices until they do reach the $10K
so you would pony up 10K? Also there will be diminishing returns, many I have spoken to will pay the 10k and drop football & basketball all together. The rigs may have inelastic demand, but the overall product of football and basketball do not. Net revenue will not increase as many of you believe. There wont be folks standing in the queue for football tickets.
guess we need to take over the student section and turn them into rigs since chasing profit is truly the only path we should consider
