This is an absolute shitshow right now for all. You know it's crazy when a program like KU can't keep their best player, Budinga, and he ends up at Louisville. Meanwhile, the majority of teams I guess will just sit and wait on the agents who at the moment are just licking their chops. It's crazy what even mediocre mid major players averaging 8 pts a game are supposedly asking for. I have no idea how a player picks a school or a school picks a player.
Yeah, it seems like the big boys are just playing musical chairs with each other, while also cherry 🍒 picking the best mid majors. Schools like Iowa may end up with table scraps…🤷‍♂️

If we want to keep Ben and continue to hold off the Blue bloods, two things need to happen.
1- Fans need to start doing their share
2- Some other popular sports needs to give a chunk of their rev share to mbb

Because, as much as Ben loves uIowa, he will start looking harder at these top jobs every offseason if he feels he doesn’t have what he needs to compete for championships
Nah.

I think we all have faith in Ben. That’s not the problem.

I've said this before. A year ago Ben was shopping for a center. Ben said they were too expensive. And now, a year later, they are even more expensive. But imagine if we had that center on this year's team.

We are a big boy. We’re in the biggest and richest league and we just made the Elite 8.
We are definitely sitting at the big boy poker table…just not sure if we have the ‘chips’ to match the raises by the Michigan’s and Illini’s of the college basketball world. We definitely have the right coach, so hopefully he is also a smart shopper. 😉

You’re 100% correct! He’s nothing even compared close to Cooper Koch. Love Iowa fans but most are just average followers and lower IQ’s when it comes to basketball. The average Midwest man easy going laid back chill and far behind what’s really going on in the world lol

#21, who makes the shot in the video below, is 6'3" guard Ace Glass. Iowa is reportedly showing strong interest, with plans to get him on campus quickly.

This season he averaged 29 min, 16.4 pts, 2.3 assists, 3 rebs.

He shot 46% overall and 36% from three. He has 3 years left.

Speaking of Ace Glass:

This season he shot 46% overall and 36% from three.

He has 3 years left.

Must be nice having that sugar daddy.

Because they signed 2 guys from Bradley, a guy from K St and a guy from Robert Morris? Their NIL is not that big my man. And don’t send me the financial info of their supposed 1 guy. Nobody knows what he’s paying.

First you claim their NIL is not that big, as if you know.

Then you say, well, "nobody knows...."

But one thing WE DO KNOW is Clown U has a sugar daddy who's very good friends with TJ.

ANOTHER THING we know is Clown U is finally strapped, so where do you think the money to pay the MBB players is coming from?

Glass is visiting Vanderbilt right now. Hopefully he waits for the Iowa visit to commit!

did you just copy and paste what I said in a different thread?

I have been posting updates on everyone linked to Iowa in this thread.

And now, after doing a search on your posts, it looks like you took my "Vanderbilt" and changed it to "Vandy." But, I won't accuse you of that!

Last week on heard on sports talk out of Des Moines they estimate isu at 8-8.5 million. Less than what Iowa is projected. Isu got 5 guys but 2 of them at kstate and NW avg 4-6 ppg. Look at most list players in the portals and see only one in top 60. Also figure in Momcilovic leaving. Frees up lot of $ where he comes back they aren’t getting all 5. Why decision for him to enter portal on top of the draft. Because if he withdraws his name isu wasn’t going to be in a position to pay him and the rest of transfers unlike what a blue blood could where he could command high end $. To go along with their other 2 high price guys from last year graduating. Looking at their roster who is making most $? Toure, Bateman?

I have been posting updates on Ace Glass since last Thursday, April 9. Today I posted more updates. Simple as that. The thread you posted in/are referring to, interesting enough, was started 2 days later, on Sat, April 11.

Always the big concern. Remember hearing story few years back. Big guy named Josh Cohen from smaller school St Francis. Iowa set to have 2nd visit. Umass first stop. From reliable source he heard he cancelled and committed before visiting Iowa. Reason was allegedly offer umass gave him wouldn’t be same one on the table if he left. He accepted.

stuff like that with some players you just don’t know tactics schools are playing behind the scenes. Fleck at MN is notorious for putting pressure with HS recruits on the spot getting them to commit (ISM and Noah Shannon both spoke on this). Why he always seems to have a couple of decommits to before signing day.

It really is hard to know who is getting what.

I mean, look at Iowa; if we spend $12M, is $5M (or more) really going to 2 players (a PG and a center)? Should Koch get $1M? Or more? I can't believe I am typing this! LOL

What happens if the PG or the center turns out to be a bust? This stuff just stinks, big time. Maybe that's why this is all taking so long; Ben doesn't want another "Brendan Hausen" situation or an "Alvaro" situation where the player shows up less than 1/2 the time.

Guess it all depends value and price range of the C and PG. Getting stirtz was a bargain last year cause he took a discount to follow McCollum.

Speaking of bust all you have to do is look at football with McNamara. Didn’t get our $ worth and penalized for tampering. Could be worse look at Kentucky paid top $ for big guy Quaintance and he appeared in only 4 games.

Again, they've signed 2 guys from Bradley, a guy from K State who averaged 5 pts a game and a guy from Bob Morris. If they paid over 2 million for those 4 guys total that's a problem. And now they're losing Momcilovic as well. And Iowa State hasn't been beating us because of a Sugar Daddy. They have been beating us because their team plays harder than us. Hopefully that stops now that Mac is the coach.

Agree. You can do all the supposed due dilligence you want but you just never know how a guy is going to perform, especially a guy moving up in competition. Alvaro has skills and when he was ready to play he clearly showed them. I just think he wasn't ready for the nightly grind of the Big Ten. Hausen seemed like a great teammate but he was on a losing team at K State and I also think wasn't used to the intensity of what Mac wants on a nightly basis. His style and how hard you have to work to play for him are not for everyone.

Wow.

Being last on the visit list is not always good :(

I can see why coaches say screw it and retire....
