I agree, which is why last year was so strange. Obviously having no PG was a big reason but it’s liked he dropped everything that made him win games at all.
Sounds like Monday is D-Day internally at UK. They’ll be deciding what path to take with roster construction based on what they know Monday.

Hey Bruce.. just curious why you have changed your stance on Stokes. A couple of weeks ago you were very adamant that he was coming here, and now that he is coming for a visit, you think he'll still need to weigh his options after this visit.
I don't see it happening, unless Stokes thinks he'll be able to run the show. Pope is so stubborn.
Why would you move on before the scheduled visit? Seems odd. I can see moving on from him on Monday night (depending on how the visit goes).

I hear you. Kind of agree, but it seems like Pope isn’t going down without a fight. Have to respect this in some ways.
Pope can’t afford to let him commit anywhere other than Kentucky. The difference with him is a raise for Pope and at minimum another year as head coach, or probably getting fired after the season unless they really show signs of real improvement. I’m hoping he can get him and Wright and add some good players around them with MM and Cam showing a lot of improvement as well. Stokes would be a heck of a start to build around for sure.

I hope you are correct. Pope desperately needs a great season with an elite prospect. We need to win big and send him to the top of the draft. That would help alleviate a lot of future concerns and arguments against him/system on the recruiting trail.

Yeah, we needed to end his recruitment while he was here if we really want him.
He doesn’t have to sign, he could just enroll somewhere. We all know signing doesn’t mean squat these days anyway.
