By going to Wisconsin, it seems there probably weren't many, if any, quality options for Deal.

What we heard rumored was that she wanted a guaranteed starting spot. She wasn't getting that at a more established program.
Deals shot is legit. She also has good floor awareness and is willing to send a pass in. For her on the court its going to come down to 1. can she improve quickness, 2. can she improve defense 3. ball handling and turnovers.
I take all that chatter with a grain of salt. Nobody seems to know much anymore. That said, I guess we'll find out if she's a true "bag chaser", cause she'll get a lot of playing time on a bad team, and if her numbers are good we'll see what happens. Probably a good spot for her and Mallegni both.
She ain't playing at Iowa again, pretty certain of that.
Maybe? I wish her shot was more legit this year. Seemed like she was drawing more air than iron or net towards the end there. I still hope she has a nice career. No hard feelings here.

I wouldn't see it as disparaging. She probably was looking for some assurance that she'd start the season in the starting lineup along with a substantial dollar figure. If she did end up at Wisconsin that's a much more likely outcome than it would be at a higher profile program.
I’m not saying you are disparaging her. I’m saying that’s the thing that gets floated when players leave. I can’t imagine coaches today promising starting spots. Not at any legit program. But maybe I’m naive.
I think it depends on the coach, the player, and the situation. I'm sure at a minimum there was a discussion with Jan where she was asked what they were looking to do personnel wise and how Addie fit into those plans. I'm going to assume that the plan was to recruit a few guards in the portal and that Addie's money would likely be curtailed. The decision was then made to part ways.
I'm hoping its Carnegie. That is an excellent shooting guard for the team, puts less stress on the other commits. From the sounds of it, Iowa was willing to sign 2 big commits. Hopefully this is one, see if they can get another.
Texas was just in the final four 2 weeks ago and had several players hit the portal. Everyone has to deal with it.
IMO this is the one they need. Everything that comes after is gravy.
