Mike Riley was way better than Matt Rhule. Don’t disrespect Mike like that.Sooo......you're all in on a guy who with the massive resources we have here, has managed to go 19-19 and had not one, but two seasons where we had everything on the table after six games only to see the ship sink like a rock? A guy who ha signed off on about 70 recruits in his time here, and by all accounts have only managed to develop ( IE make them better ) about 5 of them? You are in on Mike Riley 2.0 ?
Ok, got it.
Great post coming from Participation Ribbon guy…
Which doesn't bode well for a team that was short on talent to begin with.Last year was the worst recruring I’ve seen. The O-Line portal was good. Everything else is just ugh
He's not a football coach. Concerning, since we hired him to be our football coach.this year, we brought in a ton of portal player talent, a lot of it.. the hs recuiting wasn't as important. I think you have to give him credit at the things he does well. He's not a football coach, but he's far from worthless, if we only had a competent AD running the program.
But uncle donnie itself concerns me. Either M.R. believes in the college game that a freshman 5 star qb is worth tanking your entire offense around. Not realizing that qb is just a piece of the the whole picture.i wish it was clearer too.. but it looks like he obviously wants a more mobile QB and is putting way more resources into the OL. Also, this will be the first year in how many years that the OL was not coached by Raiola? I am really hopeful to see more meaningful running game stuff, but with Dana, who knows?
He would have been majorly crucified if he didn't take Raiola, sort of like the whole Joe Burrow thing.. kind of a no win situation. I think Rhule has to move on eventually.. we're just having to put up with him for a couple more years due to the contract. I still like our team this year in spite of Matt. But uncle donnie itself concerns me. Either M.R. believes in the college game that a freshman 5 star qb is worth tanking your entire offense around. Not realizing that qb is just a piece of the the whole picture.
Or: He thought the first several years that Raiola was the answer at OL. Either way its concerning form a coaching standpoint.

Who is "we?"Simply put, because King_WRONG is dead-set against him.
1. Wrong about Haarberg
2. Wrong about Hoiberg
3. Wrong about the B1G
4. Wrong about the Big 12 (LOL best in the country! best in the country by a mile! no competition!)
5. Wrong about too many other things to list here
Matt Rhule, we are with you because the odds are in your favor.
PS Did you see Michigan completely destroy the Big 12 champions and make them look like a high school team? They were up by 30 points at one point before calling off the dogs. This is the same Michigan team Nebraska should have beat missing two of their best players. Nobody likes Michigan but that does not mean we are going to bury our head in the sand and pretend the B1G is not the dominant force in college athletics.
Just posting facts. Sorry you cant handle it.@4plateBencher and @HBK4life_rivals100467. They're our resident B1G's biggest fans.
Just posting facts. Sorry you cant handle it.
The only slobbing on here is you on King Wrong. If by "posting facts" you mean "slobbering all over the knobs of all of our opponents in the B1G" with just about every post, then yeah, you're just posting facts.
You're in a very small exclusive club with 4platebencher. Think about that for a second.

Still sad over the Big 10 winning the Natty?![]()
Why would I be sad? We're in the best and most profitable conference in the country. You on the other hand? Keep those Big 12 dreams alive.
It’s hilarious that all these faggoty B1G posts only get likes from Iowa fansWhy would I be sad? We're in the best and most profitable conference in the country. You on the other hand? Keep those Big 12 dreams alive.![]()
Hang in there. It’s hilarious that all these faggoty B1G posts only get likes from Iowa fans
what an absolute cuck you’ve become
add you to the list of pathetic pussies I have mentally destroyed on this board
Nothing will ever be funnier than you going full blown cuck for Michigan only to be posterized by the one Mich fan who posts hereHang in there.

Almost as funny as you saying "Its the Big 12 and everyone else".Then the mighty Big 12 doesn't make the title game? Now that was hilarious.Nothing will ever be funnier than you going full blown cuck for Michigan only to be posterized by the one Mich fan who posts here
absolute all-time humiliating emasculation

Hope that's not sarcasm. We can't pay another fing buyout, can we?i think Matt's doing a good job recruiting.. we are getting a lot of studs in here. I want to see the coordinators be the best that they can be. We are due for a good year, and this year is going to surprise a lot of people!
This is where we beat K-State at their own game and nix both Dannen and Rhule at the same time, avoiding the buyout. Guaranteed, or your money wasted!Hope that's not sarcasm. We can't pay another fing buyout, can we?
everyone has decided that Matt is not a good football coach, but that we cannot afford to buy him out, so we have to put up with him for the next couple of years.. I think we will have a good football team in spite of Matt, but most of the fan base disagrees. I am at the point where I don't really care anymore.Hope that's not sarcasm. We can't pay another fing buyout, can we?
fair enough.. the other element that I think gets lost here, is the NIL budget was absolutely not what it should be, as boosters are holding back now that they know they have this huge Matt Rhule buyout on the horizon... I think we only had 20 million to spend on the portal this year, and yes I wanted a legit RB portal target, but I felt they got the offensive line addressed, the best QB for us in the portal as well as as a few stud players at various other positions. I guess I am wrong on the recruiting thing, but that doesn't seem possible if this turns out to be the best team Rhule has fielded to date. I dislike Matt Rhule as much as the next guy when it comes to football decision making, but I do feel like he's a great bullsh itter / err I mean recruiter .. and he does have those skills.. his contract alone is proof. That #79 ranking includes transfers. If I were talking just hs recruiting it was worse. Far worse. As in #91 worse. So, ya see, me including transfers and noting his #79 overall class is me giving him "credit at the things he does well." Stop saying he's doing a good job recruiting.
So, I do not look like I am piling on Mat the Hat at the end of this upcoming season I am going to write this now. I do not think anything changes. The first 5 games the Huskers "should" be competitive, and I won't be surprised if they are the favorites in every one of these games. If the Huskers find success in these games all the pro-Rhule fans will use this as validation that their faith in Rhule is correct and they will contend all Matt ever needed was a better staff and more time. Then October 10 rolls around and this is when I believe the season starts to fall apart. Indiana wins by 25-30 points or more. Followed by losses to Oregon, Washington, Illinois, Ohio State and Iowa. If my prediction comes true, I am not so sure the Huskers will have enough confidence to beat Rutgers on November 14 in Piscataway. He would have been majorly crucified if he didn't take Raiola, sort of like the whole Joe Burrow thing.. kind of a no win situation. I think Rhule has to move on eventually.. we're just having to put up with him for a couple more years due to the contract. I still like our team this year in spite of Matt.
While you are busy telling us how we think, could you update your rules for your poor wife?everyone has decided that Matt is not a good football coach, but that we cannot afford to buy him out, so we have to put up with him for the next couple of years.. This isn't true. Nobody thought we were getting Raiola, and most people didn't care. He jumped a bunch of schools, probably would get beat out by slightly better qbs at Georgia or OSU and transfer, maybe to Nebraska, or another lesser school. His uncle was an obvious weak point of a really bad offense at the end of Mickey's tenure. There were strong coaches on the staff that were not even considered to be retained, but arguably the weakest coach of the weakest position group was retained. Still, it was a long shot to get Dylan and he had to promise no competition and millions of dollars, and his uncle a sustained position to get him to NU. That being said, Rhule put together such a terrible offense and qb room in his first year that most people were happy to sell their soul for a real qb.He would have been majorly crucified if he didn't take Raiola, sort of like the whole Joe Burrow thing.. kind of a no win situation. I think we might have won a decent number of games in 2024 despite Rhule's incapability to call close games. I would take Kyle Mccord's 66% completion 4,779 yards and 34-12 TD to INT.This isn't true. Don't forget, the d-line Geerp and his boys went against in the spring was our below average d-line.Best hire he made was getting Geep from Georgia Tech, he will be a breath of fresh air compared to having uncle Raiola.
Quinn Clark. Shavers. Emmitt Johnson. Donovan Jones. Barney. Guthrie. There is six for you.Name the five players. I'm struggling to think of of one non Frost player at the moment.
I’m speaking about the time he spent as offensive line at Georgia Tech.Don't forget, the d-line Geerp and his boys went against in the spring was our below average d-line.

Emmett Johnson was the best RB on our roster the past 3 years. Rhule gave a fat NIL check to Oregon's 4th string rb and force fed him instead of playing the superior athlete.Quinn Clark. Shavers. Emmitt Johnson. Donovan Jones. Barney. Guthrie. There is six for you.
The players I have mentioned have played well when they had the chance. Clark would have produced a lot more if he got on the field more. Since all but EJ are underclassmen, it is understandable that they did not see the field a lot. But when they played they more than held their own. I am giving the staff some credit for at least getting these guys up to speed where they could contribute. Jones and Guthrie we able to step in play pretty well when needed. How are you defining that? My understanding of the original premise of your post was that there were 5 players who were Rhule's recruits who have showed marked improvement since they got here.
Clark - only played one full season, hard to say how much he's really improved beyond normal just getting older and more experienced
Johnson - not a Rhule recruit and really hard to include him when, if anything, his talent was squandered by Rhule
Jones - see Clark
Guthrie - see Clark and Jones
Sorry, I'm with @Ben_Dover on this one. Really hard to come up with 5 for me. At least up to this point. Unless you're just counting anyone who's worked their way up the depth chart since they came in as freshmen? But again, see Clark, Jones and Guthrie. There's going to automatically be a lot of players (most) who "improve" to some extent just by getting older.
