By a wide margin, my sports viewing highlight this week was watching Denver U. take down Michigan in the Frozen Four. I don't follow DU hockey all that closely, but it's a great program - especially when they are beating teams followed by entitled, loudmouthed a-holes.

ESPN polished Michigan's knob all night long, only to have them lose. When DU scored the game winner, you would have thought ESPN was covering a plane crash. They were practically sobbing.

So should every PGA tour member give back 50% of their increased prize purse that they ALL have been awarded because of the LIV?

If someone said you can make 10x what you are right now and cut your hours by 20% by doing the same job. I’m guessing LouisK would be rolling out in a hurry.

Bottom line is that every golfer should be thanking the sacrificial lambs for bettering their situation. Golf as a whole benefitted by the LIV whether people want to admit it or not.
Wait, so “golf benefitted as a whole” because some PGA guys who were already making millions stand to make a few hundred grand more at certain events?

Maybe I’m not playing “golf,” which some days might be a fair assessment, because I’m still banana slicing half my drives.

For the sake of argument, let’s say LIV created some benefit for someone. That benefit, times a zillion, doesn’t even touch the misery caused by the bone crushers.

Golf, NASCAR, soccer and professional wrestling. Zzzzzzzz...
Some of the women tennis and golf players are pretty hot! It worth watching the highlights. Soccer needs to go back to the third world country that can’t afford a bat and baseball. NASCAR needs to go back to the late 1970’s and everyone is for themselves instead of teams todays NASCAR sucks like a Iowa fan

What a leaderboard going into the weekend … Starting on page two with Rory all by himself on page one. What an extraordinary back nine. Absolutely insane.

Yeah, who gives a crap that LIV helped with the purses on the PGA. As I wrote long ago, those losers left for the money and now all want back on the PGA tour because they are effectively irrelevant now in the golf world. LIV does not prepare their golfers to be able to consistently compete in the majors. They can win because they have talent but it takes someone like DeChambeau who is a practice nut to keep up his skill to compete. What do you think about LIV, literally 54 in roman numerals and equal to the number of holes these guys were playing, going to 72 holes? Now that is a big change when you name your entire tour after the 54 hole format but need to change to 72 holes because your tour isn't preparing players for the majors like the PGA. The LIVers ran for the money now want to scramble back to the PGA. Tom Watson is right, they should have had to play the Korn Ferry tour for a year and earn their way back. At least Patrick Reed is forced to be on the DP Tour before being reinstated.

So, not a fan of competition. Got it.

Given Patrick Reed's history, maybe he'll kick Rory's ball behind a tree a few times today and make up some ground.
There are so many reasons not to like Reed. He even looks like a jerk all dressed in black. Yet for some reason I can’t really explain I find myself kind of pulling for him. Augusta National is so damn squeaky clean, maybe he’s sort of the anti-hero.

Like they weren't making enough already? Tiger is a billionaire and needed no LIV.
They obviously deserved to make more otherwise the tour wouldn’t have increased the prize purse so quickly. It also increased the earnings for everyone not named Scotty, Tiger and Rory.

Scottie is on a run! Finished today’s first nine five under with a 31. Fwiw, that’s what Rory shot on the back nine yesterday to rocket to a six-shot lead.

It is definitely Rory’s to lose, but … more than a couple great golfers so far have pulled double, triple and quad bogies this week.

I only caught the 2nd OT of that game. Rooting hard for DU. What I saw in that 2nd OT was Michigan just dominating the action with continuous pressure on the goalie. I felt like Michigan was going to win at any moment. How did DU ever manage to score 3 goals earlier in the game. But the longer that went on without a Michigan score, I told my spouse that I’ve seen overtime hockey like this before. Eventually the team getting dominated manages to get one shot off and it goes in. And then it did.

Rooting hard for DU today against Wisconsin. F the Big Ten.

The pga tour checked every box as to why the LIV golfers left

they expressly stated the changes they’d like to see and every single one of them happened

this isn’t an opinion, it’s verifiable fact - LIV changed pro golf forever and for the better, and that was the entire reason it formed the first place

Even if Rory does hang on—which given the number of players scoring really well today is not a given, second ain’t bad. Something like $2.4 million and:

“Eight players have won the Masters the year after finishing runner-up, highlighting that it can be a motivator rather than just a disappointment.”

I'm ready for a great finish. On the couch, drift into a nice little early afternoon siesta. Then as the leaders start getting halfway through the round.... "Is that Jim Nantz waking me up from my Sunday nap?" Ahhhh, peace.

Go Young (or Scottie)

Pioneers did it again!

If they have a parade for the team, I’m definitely going - mainly to thank them for taking a giant dump in the Blowhard Ten’s punchbowl.

Great win. A real rope-a-dope of game. Only 5 shots on goal through 2 periods. But once they tied it up 1-1, you could sense that Wisconsin blew their chance. I drank up the tears from Big Ten apologists crying how the better team didn’t win. Goalies matter, just like the Olympics. And DU’s coach has to be the hottest name in hockey coaching. Won 3 of the last 5 championships and he’s only 36.
