NIKE recommended Mo to Pope and is the new guy at UK. It appears NIKE is trying to influence Stokes to UK, a NIKE school.
He has visited previously correct? This has to be with his agent to hammer out a deal.
I think many have questions as of this point. Without a doubt this has been an unusual recruitment ranging from he’s a near lock several months ago to something went sideways and now it’s Kansas to no chance he picks us to maybe we snag him in the end?
I do think Pope and UK are pulling everything out of the bag for this kid. Hiring Mo with Nike connection and tie to Crawford… recruiting Diallo so vigorously… it all points to Stokes.
I hope it all gets wrapped up asap bc I want UK to have time to build roster from portal regardless of Stokes decision.

I didn't think it matters, but he wants to hear what their plans are for him. The staff needs to be prepared to tell him he's the point forward. He will have the ball in his hands making the decisions. On the nation's biggest stage.
Yeah, I don't understand why everyone totally dismisses the 24/25 season, like it was sort of fluke. That offense was legit and that team had more quad 1 wins than anyone ever has. That was a good team and all of us were excited going into year 2.
Pope overcompensated while trying to get tougher guys and it backfired. I expect year 3 to have a really good offense.

If you’re Pope, you’ve gotta understand your audience when this kid is around. Seems anti-authority in a way. Not a bad kid, just likes to blaze his own path and go against the grain. The kind of kid that you tell him straight up that “there’s only a few people in recent college basketball that could elevate Kentucky to where they need to be” and how he hopes that’s Stokes, but is unsure if he can take them to that level.

Putting all this stock on a high school recruit is is such a bad idea IMO. I have a feeling that If we someone manage to land this player it will be the final nail in the coffin for Pope. Lots of pressure to come out and put up 20 and 10 throughout the first few games of the season.
Go after Wilkins or Blyden Jr. for backcourt depth and shooting.
Add Avdalas for a versatility piece.
Focus on Goode, Freeman, Murauskas, and Graves in the frontcourt.

Yeah night and day difference between the years. Year1 we had shooters and a group of older guys who meshed well together.
One year kid - tough rep, apparently raw. Value add or a distraction? We saw the DP experiment and how that went.
