I hear ya on this, but man his coaching is really
Not that good. He was gifted wrapped a couple titles with the teams he had the last 2 seasons and he blew a 9pt lead with 2 min to go and blew a 15 pt half time lead.
And watching his coaching at the end of those two historic collapses…he really **** the bed.
I think Coach k picked him because he can still control **** behind closed doors.
Imagine how mad everyone is gonna be when he signs with Duke for $1.8M.
If you believe the headlines, Duke is getting a bunch of good players in the portal and not spending. 
I knew I shouldn’t have thought we would even go after him. Like Pope had a chance.

The average NBA salary is approximately $12 million and the median NBA salary is, oddly enough, approximately $12 million.
Love Duke or hate Duke (as I do) one thing you can say about Duke is if they paid seven million dollars for a player they probably got darned near seven million dollars worth of player.
Duke has Caleb Foster, Cayden Boozer, Rippey, Dame Sarr and Bryson Howard. It's hard to imagine Blackwell going there.

Thing is, he’s eventually just gonna catch the breaks and Calipari his way to at least one natty. Just too much talent every single year.

Thanks, the information I was looking at left out two way, 10 day and some other minor contracts. By doing that it pushed the median and average closer together. 11.9 for average and 11.7 for median. I just rounded them both to 12.
I mean no one takes this seriously anymore, right? It’s like WWE. It’s no longer real and no title is really an accomplishment anymore. It’s just money-fed entertainment that has no real depth or authenticity. No contracts. No cap. No commitments. It’s just fantasy bball at this point.

Why won’t we even try for a guy of his caliber? Louisville is on the list for crying out loud and they are coached by a youth pastor.
The ACC gets easier every single season. Duke has a built in 25 win season to start with.

No idea. Apparently we're looking at Terrence Hill (VCU) and Neoklis Avdalas (VT) at the SG role. Hill is very good, at least offensively. Givony has him ranked 4th on the DX transfer portal big board, ahead of Blackwell who is 8th. His opinion should count for something. The data says they were about the same level in terms of offensive production last season with Blackwell being the slightly better defender (neither are good defenders), but statistical plus-minus data is noisy. The secondary efficiency metrics (TS%, PER) favor Hill; Blackwell is a slightly better rebounder, but Hill's AST% was nearly double that of Blackwell's indicating that he has superior playmaking ability. It was also Hill's sophomore breakout season where he only made two starts, so arguably even more room for him to improve than Blackwell who is a senior.
Avdalas looks like a high-ceiling project to me: 6'9" guard (!) that didn't shoot well at all. The efficiency numbers are really bad simply because he couldn't put the ball in the basket, but he was only a freshman. He's an excellent passer already having posted a 26.9% AST% (!!!). If this guy figures out how to score consistently then he's gonna be a huge problem. Watch his season highlights on Youtube. True unicorn potential. He moves and handles incredibly well for someone that size, has a smooth stroke, and nice court vision. Polished turnaround fadeaway middy J that's unguardable. I'm generally not a fan of taking on projects to develop in CBB these days since no one sticks around, so you'd kind of be gambling on him figuring it out *right now* for the 2026-27 season.

lol. Would be something. That guy is getting at minimum 4 million though and I’d say the number is closer to 6. It’s just not sustainable. I can’t believe they’re making a million dollars to be honest. If it’s all donated money though I suppose they have it.
His rate metrics are excellent. Just didn't play all that much which I suppose is understandable for a 4-star who was outside the top 150. If he has a sophomore breakout then he could be quite a player. He mostly plays in the dunker roll as a dish / lob threat but can also run in the PnR. Kind of limited outside of that I think but he's got sneaky athleticism despite looking and moving like a 1970s YMCA player. Above average rebounder and shot blocker. His numbers are shockingly similar to Malachi's, and they profile similarly, but Malachi was slightly better.
Must just be a super weak class for big men then. I can’t believe he is rated that high overall.

Well, that's just the Draft Express board that he's high on. On3 has him at #27 and 247Sports has him at #36. Not sure where Evan Miyakawa has him. It really depends on how much improvement you're projecting into his sophomore season which isn't something I think On3/247 are particularly great at modeling.
