Kind of feels like whoever we get is an upgrade.

Yeah, we can't really be any worse than we were this last season. To get any better, we need a couple game-changers. This guy may be a solid player, but I don't think he qualifies as a game-changer.

Well good luck hoping for Lamont to find and get some game changers, I just hope we have some more guys next year that can at least actually play the game.

At 7'2'' you would think he would block more than 43 shots, unless he's a flat-footer who doesn't get off the floor.
Sharavjamts had 28 blocks and avg. 10.8 pts at 6'9'' as a comparison.

Didn't we have some 7 footers that mostly rode the pine this past year? I don't really give a damn about men's BB because we almost always suck but it seems like we played better when our bigs were in the game and for some reason they weren't in the game very often.

That’s because they were awful. This guy is a big step up from Essandoko and Butler

What is this assessment based on? Did you see SMU play a lot this year? Not disagreeing. Like most here, though, I'd never heard of the guy until this report so I don't know anything about him.

I watched a few SMU games. This guy is a more traditional big. He can actually play in the post. Hes a solid rebounder and shot blocker. I’m not saying he’s a world beater or anything, but he’s a big step up compared to last season.

Gotcha...thanks!

Suffice it to say, if a player couldn't get playing time on this team, they must've been pretty bad.

Admittedly I did not see a lot of SMU games this year, but what I did see this kid was pretty solid underneath the boards.
He would make a pretty decent addition.
(Were not exactly in the position to be too selective)

I heard he was asking for over 3 million in NIL. It's getting ridiculous... even if the guy was averaging 30 points per game (which he was not!). Makes it hard to be fan when clearly the interest in your school has nothing to do with your school or fans etc. It's just free agency.
