97kg should be incredible with Taz, Azapira, Yoshida, and Poyonov.

At 79kg Olympic champion Jamalov is back after a year hiatus. He is up a weight from where he won his Olympic title. He should be challenged by Irans Yousefi who won gold at U20’s last year beating Henckel in the finals.

Aoyagi is Japans rep at 74kg. I saw that Takahashi is training at PSU right now. I’m not sure if those 2 competed for the spot or not but it’s tough having 1 of them sitting out

Zare is a big favorite at heavyweight. 86kg has Ghasempour and Saipudinov

Gharehdahghi is a great story. His dad is from Iran and mom from Japan. His dad moved to Japan and started a wrestling club when he was young. He’s still only 20 but seems to be jumping levels. He represented Japan at U20’s last year but went 0-1. Year later beats the reigning Olympic champion

What happened to Taz?! 2 years ago he was considered the best p4p wrestler in the world. This year I think he has a losing record. Yoshida is great and keeps making gains but I didn’t see a beatdown like this happening. Yoshida did beat Snyder but Snyder got his revenge at worlds last year.

The Chinese women knocked off Japan for the team title! China had 5 golds and every woman came home with a medal. Really impressive performance
