It’s probably a good whiff. Still eligibility concerns there, unless something changed.

Perfect level of school to take the risk imo. Not just risk with eligibility but how he’ll translate to college ball which is just different than G League.
Pope spent all that time visiting him, all the buzz it was UK if he went to college, and then this.
I was never fired up about Pate but thought Byrd was interesting. There are lots more of the same caliber left.
I never wanted him. But I’ll be damned if Pope didn’t put a lot of time into recruiting him. I’m gonna hope Pope had a change of direction in the type guy he wants, but it’s probably just another whiff.

I'm not gonna say im disappointed yet. Never was sold to start with, combine that with potential eligibility issues and whatever and I'm glad we missed or looked elsewhere.

Bet this was us and smu backing off with how its obvious the NCAA is going to make a move to make all the G league guys ineligible in the coming months.

Every whiff can’t be good and everyone we whiff on folks gave rationale why they weren’t a good fit. Newsflash we need bodies
Some of us (me) were complaining about the fact that we are still going after non-shooters. We already put our allowance money in the wrong envelope last year…don’t understand why we are still licking the same stamps.
Pope wasted a lot of time on this guy imo. This is a legit one to complain about.
