Very fine, 91% Tomatometer. Chris Cooper and Kris Kristofferson play Texas sheriffs. This is very seldom shown which is why I’m highlighting it. Definitely worth a copy and viewing.

I remember this movie. It is outstanding. John Sayles' work is to be admired and savored -- just a phenomenal director. Francis McDormand, Elizabeth Pena, Joe Morton, Clifton James and a young McConaughey are a great cast.

Sayles - Matwan, Eight Men Out both worth revisiting as well.

Yes, especially Matewan, pitch perfect. Another Chris Cooper movie, with an outstanding James Earl Jones.

I set this for record on my DVR at the beginning of the week. TCM is following it with No Country and Blood Simple. I’ve never seen Lone Star, but it looked interesting so I set it for record.

Yeah, some kind of TCM Texas Thursday this month. Hud is next Thursday at 8, an American classic.

Blood Simple is early Coen Brothers, doesn’t quite work for me but it’s a good film.

I recorded this last week on LionJim's recommendation and watched it last night. Mucho thanks to him, I enjoyed it tremendously. The twists were subtle and enjoyable. Oh and it was a definite bonus that TCM ran it without commercial beaks. I wasn't ready for that, I'd never watched a whole flick on TCM before so I was pleasantly surprised. Thanks again, LJ, much appreciated!

Welcome. Yeah, TCM is commercial free. You get these obscure great films on TCM from time to time, unbeatable. “Hud” is on this coming Thursday at 8pm one of my favorites, one of the most beautifully filmed black and white movies ever. Won three Oscars, Best Actress, BS Actor, Cinematography. A rough watch but you see real nobility in the old man.

Never any ads on TCM. None of those 5 minute commercial breaks. Check your channel guide every day so you won't miss some great movies.

Thanks. Always like these types of movies. highway men, hell and high water, a perfect world.
Yeah, these modern-day Westerns can be damn good. Hell or High Water, dang, it really is a classic.

Another great neo-Western is Winter’s Bone. It was filmed in the Ozarks, but has the appropriate amount of get out of my ******* way, don’t you **** with me attitude. A great film, I don’t get how it isn’t as acclaimed as it deserves to be. Highly, highly recommended.

Yea great movie. Really liked it.
Another one I was thinking about was with Jeremy renner is wind river. These are all great movies to see in the theater due to their cinematic views and hold their own on tv because of the great stories.

TCM is tremendous and there are certainly obscure great films but Hud is a great film that is not obscure.

Patricia Neal is outstanding.
