I'd like to see eligibility capped at 5 years of enrollment with a max age of 24. Max of two transfers (that gives a max of 3 schools). No exceptions. Whether you play all 5 or claim injury and sit the season out, you're done at 5.

Would agree with the idea of transfer limit in addition to a hard 5 year rule.

I like a 2 year plan. You cannot transfer until your junior year. No exceptions. Especially now that you’re getting paid.

“Well my coach got fired…”

so what you’re getting paid.

“Well hardship…”

You’re getting paid. Use that money to take care of it.

“it’s my Ma…”

You’re getting paid. Fly her here and put her up in the world class university hospital.

“…and my Pa…”

He was just up here giving the coach the business about how much money you should make and how the team should be designed around you. Buy him a nice apartment near the athletic facility so he doesn’t have to travel so much…YOURE GETTING PAID!

Money changes things folks. I’m not against people getting paid. I’m also not against the entity doing the paying be a little more strict and demanding some things in return.
Yeah, none of that is happening and you seem really upset that money is changing hands even though you said you weren't.

Cannot transfer, no exceptions, until juror year? Telling a player to fly his sick mom closer to him because he's not allowed to leave? You're suggesting the player put one parent in a world class hospital and the other in a nice apartment close by? WTF are you talking about? Good lord that is one bitter post.

Oh you’re that guy.

Ever heard of sarcasm?

Occasionally it’s used to make light of a situation while at the same time kind of stress a point.

Point was that transfer, eligibility, etc have all been exploited over the years above and beyond their original intent.

I believe a 2 year obligation is fair. That is a good amount of time to develop and see what your trajectory is in terms of playing. Same from coaching perspective. Enough time to asses a player see what is or isn’t. Also an appropriate amount of time to see if the money is worth it.

If things aren’t working out, great, both parties tried. Kid can go, play somewhere else for 2 years and then guess what? If he qualifies for a 5th year of eligibility because HE STUBBED HIS TOE VISITING HIS SICK MOTHER WHILE AT HOME FOR HARDSHIP ISSUES…well then per the 2 year rule he could transfer one more time and play a 5th somewhere!

How’s that suit ya Mr. Literal?

See I’m a caring guy. That’s 3 different schools via 2 transfers in 5 years.

I suppose some may like a 1 time or even 2 time max. Without a time commitment. Fine…main goal being restoring some sort of structure to it all.

I’m not bitter. Do not care one bit about pay. Care about what the program is getting in return.

Care about some sort of reasonable rules and organization to the game.

Care about teams, programs, fan bases, boosters, etc not getting the run around and being taken advantage of.

It won’t pass. The courts will block this.
See I don't get that. It's the NCAAs league. Just tell teams and players they will abide by the rules or they'll not compete in NCAA sanctuon events and not be eligible for championships. I don't see how the courts would/ could have any say on NCAA eligibility even though they obviously apparently do the NCAA makes the rules as long as it's fair and uniform there shouldn't be much a court can do.
