Hello All,

Sorry to hear of your loss MdW.

I am sitting in my Mazda 3 underneath a tree in a parking lot in Centreville, VA. My Darling is doing the Spa thing and I am thankful.

I had a little running around to do and did it here instead of heading home and coming back. (About 25 miles)

DC traffic extends to my neck of the woods too. I just didn’t “wanna” do it more than once. 52-53 degrees here though in my car is a lot warmer so I am very fine sitting and for once…….. Doing nothing!!!!! That changes in less than 30 though but I DO enjoy being around My Darling….

I hope you all have a blessed rest of your days though and….. “Git Jiggy wiff it!!!”

Good afternoon D, I don't know if this is what you call marking something off your bucket list, but anyway, I've been metal detecting for about 10 years now and today I found my first half dollar, a 1967 Kennedy half! Also found another Mercury dime, 1920 something, can't make out the last number, anyway.

Whoa,

Sir,

I have been watching some youtube video's as you mentioned and came across several reels about gold. Come to find out there are places in Virginia close to me if the sessions are true. I know a few places I am going to frequent and try before the snakes come out in force. I am also seriously looking forward to detecting some of the water areas/ beaches we have been to, I even bought a small sand shovel (The kind that sifts the sand.) in the hopes. ;) I found a few pennies around the neighborhood but I still do not have my detector set properly but I believe I can. Once I learn more, I may invest more heavily and buy a real detector. I am already having fun and haven't yet really started. It is something I have always wanted to do though. Congrats on the finds!

Just got back with My Darling from her four or five hour session at the Spa. She had a great time and we went out to eat before coming home.

Think I am going to partake of a Yuengling or two... I have some that have been there a while so I need to ensure they don't go bad. ;)

Anything before 1965 is 90% silver when it comes to dimes, quarters, half dollars, and dollars unless of course those dollars are .9999 silver which would be 1 ounce of silver since they add .1% copper to it to make it more solid. In which case the .1 percent copper pushes the weight to 1.1 ounce meaning you have 1 ounce of silver.

Good morning from ATX. Yes, up early. Currently 66°F. Got some rain yesterday.

Must take retirement packet to post office tomorrow. 49 more days.

Provided tech support to Cuz in KY yesterday. He had a Telemed over Zoom with his doctor in Louisville. Helped him via Quick Assist. He was real early to meeting because of 1 hr time difference.

Wife seems better. Hopefully no more cancer spread.

Happy Friday, y'all!

Good morning folks. Glad it is Friday.

Heading for Kentucky tomorrow morning to help care for dad. He is getting close to immobile. Tough to watch what is happening to him at 95. But we all are trying to keep some joy in his life. He still likes being with family, watching the Reds and Gunsmoke.

I hope your wife continues to show positive signs Austin.

Out for a quick run, then lots of work today. You all have a good one.

95 years is great. Here is to hoping and praying his time now is as comfortable and as painless as possible.

Thanks Warrior. He's lived a good, interesting life and has much to be grateful for. It is always hard at the end to see someone who was so strong and energetic falling apart. But 95 is as much as any of us can ask for, and we all face the same end.

On another topic, do any of you folks - maybe Austin, who I know is a computer wizard, know if there is any way to KILL a post on this board now? The old board had a DELETE tab, but since we went to ON3, I can't figure it out, if it is possible. I get angry at some of the obvious fake trolls on Rafters, but after lettting off steam just want to kill an occasional post. I know, I shouldn't let the little fleas and ticks irritate me.

Thanks. Best advice is click "more options" in upper right corner. No delete button available. I'll try a couple tests posts below.

That never works when I did that to your messages!!!

Hello all,

Just sitting at my computer and the day is not done BUT, it is slowing down considerably and I am thankful!!!

Read all the messages since I posted last. I will keep you all in prayer knowing God is in control and will give you and your loved ones healing, comfort, and any other needs in their lives....

My Darling is moving around better after her treatment but that area is far from healed. She is very probably looking at surgery. A blessing I have is all my children are in the medical fields in multiple areas. They are assisting with finding the best alternatives for My Darling as far as the surgery areas. I am thankful...

Been fighting most all day with one then another. (Not physically thankfully but I would not mind working out on the heavy bag if I had one to expel some pent up energy!)

Going to take it easy after I hit send on this... Have a care-free rest of your days (If that is even possible.) Be safe MdW...

Hello all,

Just got back from taking the BB out to "Check things". The BB and I, every once in a while just go out together and hit stores he has in mind. We hit Play stop I think and Walmart. Left just after I posted my last message and are back now.

He is eating his Popcorn and Milk... That boy has that nightly most every night he is with us. I have a hotair popper and he eats it straight with no salt or flavorings, even no butter. He does eat a stash with it many times. (A milk chocolate feastable candy bar, the small ones.)

He has his first soccer practice tomorrow...

Enjoy what's left of your evenings....

Good morning folks. Happy Saturday. A rainy day in the east.

I’m getting behind the wheel to head to Kentucky. About eight hours if all goes well.

I hope it is a good day for all of you.
Safe travels and wishing your father all the best.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 68°F. Few sprinkles expected today. Might receive an inch tomorrow.

Breakfast of champions: Egg, cheese and spinach tortillas. Not bad. Y'all have a great day.

Morning D-Legionnaires!

Mid 60's this morning with a high around 80° expected for today.

Reds...:cautious:

Normal Saturday morning with monster walk and exercise coming up.

Wife wants to go shopping,
Means I have to be hopping.
Reds want to keep dropping,
While Duke is still flopping.
You are probably hoping I'll be stopping....

OK, just trying out my rhyming skills...

A little Saturday morning levity.
Not doing it with longevity.
Yes, I know it's not a necessity.
Luckily it was done with brevity.

Heh, heh, heh... I crack myself up.

Go easy today folks and God Bless.

Good morning everyone

It's back to the busy time of year for me. Fortunately that does not involve the job anymore, but still busy.

Dad and I fished a couple of nights and I guess it's that time now. At nearly 85 he really struggled this trip. I thought he would tell me "no more", but he was back to positive before we left. I"ll keep taking him out, but hope he will adjust to all fishing during the day for however long he can still get in the boat (or sit on the bank).

Hopefully we'll have some great news for next year's team soon. I really expected Chandler to stick it out. If you remember this team was planned to be a "two year plan". Impossible nowadays.

Oh, I was alllllllmost ready to watch some Reds action. lol Maybe they can get back on track.

Cutting trees and attending a friend's 70th BD planned for today.

Prayers for all those here and their families.

Have a great day.

HA,

When I lived in SA for 7 years, I weighed 265 pounds....

A lot from eating those flour tortilla's. Just couldn't get my fill...

Hello all,

the BB and I got to sleep in, I made us breakfast as "Ama" had a Women's Group get together at Church. Me and the BB went to his first soccer game. He gave it a whole lot more this year than in previous years. I always enjoy watching him but he showed some serious effort today and was in on multiple good plays.

Before we left he and I cleaned the house in case "Ama" brought any friends home. (It was a serious mess.) No friends but My Darling come home and with a sigh and a smile went back out to the store to mill around. She even called me as the BB and I were just finishing up his game.

I am thankful.. Am taking it a little easy today as I need it but intend to hit the garage some in a hour or so...

Enjoy this Saturday afternoon and do not push it, let it come.. ;)

4 straight walks and 2 wild pitches by the Angels pitcher gave the Reds 2 runs back. Reds 7, Angels 3 going in to the top of the 9th with Pagan coming in to end it (Hopefully). The way things are going today 9 walks for the Reds and 9 walks for the Angels anything can happen.
