After the first two games of the UVa series who would have bet that 9 games later we’d be 2 games ahead of them in the ACC standings?

Tennessee is a team to watch. They literally have blown every series they have lost so far , should have beaten UGA lost two of three , lost all 3 to Vandy blowing late leads and lost 2/3 to LSU with the bullpen blowing up again.if they can fix the backend of games and get hot late they be a lot like the LSU team we had in 24 as a two seed.

FSU @ GT series is underway in Atlanta. Huge series between two teams both ranked in the top 5.

Tonight’s game is televised on ACC Network. Surprisingly great crowd for GT, really cool to see the whole student section on its feet in the first inning.

FSU up early 3-0. Mendes pitching for FSU. Should be a great series. Mot sure who to pull for since we don’t play FSU this year.

Personally pulling for GT to hopefully have top five series at home next weekend in Chapel Hill. Would be an awesome environment (not that it wont be regardless)

Also very impressive FSU has held serve after the awful Myles Bailey injury. Because that is not a typically dude, was probably my favorite player to watch in the country

Scouting GT vs FSU. Friday night doesn’t scare because Jason is going to be Jason and have a solid outing. Saturday only worries me when Lynch walks a bunch of guys. Sundays absolutely scare me. Love folger but he’s the one I have the least confidence in especially if we haven’t wrapped up the series.

What a ballsy call by FSU was wondering if that was in the cards to double steal

What a boneheaded play good lord

Very similar to Hull calling his own number. You cannot make that call there.

Actually looked like the runner at second might have been in a rundown there either way but cannot really tell of the replay

The announcers mentioned this was the first time since 2009 that GT had hosted a top 5 matchup. They failed to note that we were the opponent that year.

BC lost to a bad VT team , LVille is getting destroyed by an awful Stanford team and NC State is destroying Dook . ND lost again, out ACC wins to this point have not been very impressive.

State routes Dook , BC evens up the series with VT and Cal is going for the sweep of Pitt and GA Tech beat FSU 17 to 3 yikes ! We have them next . Ga tech is proving a point college baseball with the tight strike zone is about stacking bats .

Clemson goes to the pen, on the first pitch the hitter skies a foul pop up that works back over the plate where the catcher fails to catch it. Hitter ends up on 2nd base and the runners who were on 1st and 2nd advance...but wait! The umpires meet retroactively and call the infield fly. Hitter out, runners go back. On replay not one umpire signals infield fly. Pollard goes batshitt on the home plate ump and gets tossed.

The hitter didn’t end up on 2nd. The bases would have been loaded if they didn’t call it, so they didn’t send the runners back. They just called the hitter out. But yeah, I’m fairly confident that was administered terribly.

tossed bc the ump was barking back and forth with his 3b coach and he ran out to say talk to me.

Fragility of umpires on full display

you're right, I thought the guy easing into 2nd base was the hitter but it was the runner on first. Looked like a complete cluster on the part of the umpires. I can't really blame Pollard for losing his mind over that.

They all got fooled by the catcher misjudging it so bad and camping well into foul territory. Somebody has to yell “infield fly, batter’s out if fair” when that goes up. Yes, the guy ended up running circles, but it would have only taken an ordinary effort to catch it, so it should have been called early IMO.

I agree with the poster who said Pollard was maybe the most mad about the ump going out of his way to talk to his 3B coach. You can read his lips say “you talk to me!” just before he’s tossed.
