Chandler to portal "do not contact tag"

Is there anything out there that makes Pope look good? I'm serious. What is out there that makes him look good? I'm open to suggestions.
Chandler at most is worth 1 mil. AT MOST
He looked pretty good after year 1 and I would say getting Kam and Moreno back, are very good looks, especially if the Moreno thing is true.
Alsk, getting Mo Williams is a good look IMO.
But look around the country, every team is losing a good portion of their team to the portal, on the surface, guys leaving is a bad look.
But can we at least wait and see who Pope gets from the portal before the next round of Pope trashing?
There’s no way Chandler demanded $3 mil to stay.
And there’s no way Pope didn’t pay it if he did.
This is not a money story. Maybe Chandler thinks he has an NBA future? If he does then he’s getting advice on what he needs to do get there.

For a player that averages less than 10 ppg, can't defend, struggles to get his own shot and too often disappears with his 3pt shooting. No way you can write that check.
To me it actually makes sense from a BYU standpoint though. Whole roster is gone and Chandler is perfect for their donor/fanbase. One of their own mormon guy replacing Saunders. I can see why they would overpay him.
Nobody is saying they don't like the dude. You can't pay 3 million to a 15 min per game guy.
What you lose with Chandler is your closer. He closed out several games this year. Literally won games with his shot. He had seven threes in one game this year.
So anybody that thinks you ain't losing something when you lose Chandler you're ******* crazy. You now have no closer. You had him and Oweh as closers.

But his last five seven eight games he kind of went down the toilet as the pressure went up.
I would have kept him though. But I think he knows he would have been back on the bench.
He did some things this year though to win games. 100% fact.

he had a high basketball IQ and had some key moments, but as I have said with all the other players,
we played on Wednesday of the SEC tournament, was a 7th seed and didn't make it past the second game in the tourney.

They would be correct. Chandler can ask for what he wants. He's just not worth half that
I appreciate Chandler being a Cat the past two seasons, but he is worth closer to $0.2 million than $3.2 million!
I must have misunderstood thought they were playing for the name on the front of the jersey!!

Hopefully CC has taught MP a lesson. Good to recruit kids that want to be here but these players now days just want a payday. I would take a whole team of portal players like UM and a title over players who want to be at UK. I am sure UM fans are glad to get a title!! This new college basketball seemed to make them happy. I would settle for a title!!

It's hard to blame him for doing what every other player is doing. Or what any of us would do in his position.
Chandler was actually a solid player, he averaged nearly 10ppg, good shooting percentages, should be a sixth seventh man, not a starter at UK, he overestimated his value.
Why does Chandler have this automatic thing where he's supposed to stay more than the next man? I already said I expect the whole team to jump in the portal. And that's not anything to do with Pope. It's just the name of the game today.
I'm not surprised by any player that enters. I'm more excited about the players we can replace them with. I feel like there are tons of players better than Chandler. Can Pope get them is the thing.

I think maybe it was BYU that overestimated his value. He was just asking UK to match their overestimation.
I mean, why not just pay CC $3 million to retain him?? Also, he has great hair. Pope is so out of touch.
C'mon man, coaches made a defensive adjustment against him and it worked.
Look at his last seven games that someone posted in this thread.
He averaged about 7 a game.
Our opponents were giving him the deep three.
Once they instructed their defenders to guard him out to 25 ft his effectiveness went way down.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he got about the same and went back more so from a religious and family perspective.
I would never fault a player for going after more money. I actually like my job but if someone offered me more I would leave in a second.
A player can look like this if he can average 16-18 a game, can guard, rebound and shoot 40% from 3.
CC flat out disappeared in the SEC and NCAA tournament. That told me all I needed to know. If he wanted to come off the bench and bang a few threes every game, great! If not, see ya!
Oh he definitely did, he disappeared often against elite teams.
And it's not like they are having to do a new job. Just getting paid more to still just play basketball. Like a promotion without extra responsibility.

Chandler could shoot and get the occasional open highlight dunk. He averaged 10ppg because somebody on this team had to score. He couldn’t get his own shot and could not drive. Defense was meh. Good at jumping passing lanes but couldn’t stay in front of someone and bad at PnR. Definitely not worth top NIl money when you look at the other players available.
The thing is, we have Mark Pope, and a guy like Chandler may be HIS top guy he’s able to recruit. A double edge sword.
