That's downright wrong and would seem to be to not be in accordance with the spirit of the eligibility rules. The University should do like every other power 4 school and sue the NCAA and get an immediate injunction to let Okot play another year.

As much as I want Okot back, we should let this one go. Okot can't afford sitting around waiting on the legal system. Mock drafts have her as a 1st Round Pick. I have seen several drafts indicating that the Indiana Fever have interest at #10. The minimum salary in the WNBA will be around $270,000.00 this year. She does not need to take a chance on a lost year.

I bet she would stand to make more from NIL deals here at South Carolina if she stayed. I think we will be ok though with what we have returning (Kitts, Edwards, ect), especially if Tournebize has a good offseason in the weight room. We need to get that girl over to Bernies and get her bulked up a little bit.

I saw on X that she's a probable first round pick. So why would she want to play another year in college anyway?

Okot would probably match the new WNBA minimum salary as a starter in a program like ours. However, she makes nothing if she doesn't play. That is why I say that she shouldn't roll the dice on the legal system to come back here. Her time here was mutually beneficial. It's time for her to move on.
