Cant see that.. but also, we never seem to get this clarification: are these numbers for 1 year? Multi years?

Either way, cant imagine $4mil for Moreno, nor would I want to pay $4mil when were ultimately going to miss the tournament entirely.

Probably exaggerated but analysts and insiders have been saying for months now that big value was going to skyrocket this portal season because of how big man dominant college basketball was this year.

Getting a 19 year old that has a ton of starting experience in a power 4 league, already has a game winning 18 footer under belt, has terrific measurables, and MM’s per 40’s as a true freshman…well…MM would have a lot of value in the portal.

Hopefully he makes the necessary improvements in the off season to become a starting level center for a title contender. He needs to work on his hands and strength. He got bullied quite a bit last year. And the best bigs in the country were all much better at handling contact.

I'm as down as anyone but a bit early to say we won't make the tourney isn't it?

Im calling my shot now. I could very well be wrong, maybe Pope pulls out an amazing transfer class.

But we went from 2 5* freshman last year, to 0 this year. We ended last season on a promising note, and still fumbled in recruiting, which makes me wonder how we could possibly do any better after *this* past season.

If I had to bet $1,000 now.. its that Pope continues to struggle and our mass exodus will be too great to overcome. I do not believe we are going to add enough quality pieces. We won't be preseason ranked, I suspect a .500-.550 win record at best and were a bubble team all year before missing the tournament after a first round SEC tournament loss.

Way too negative but maybe not wrong in the grand scheme of things.

I will gladly take that $1000 on being preseason ranked. They could hire my dog as coach with our payroll and pick enough to make the top 25 preseason lol

I think the media is gonna go with the "fool me once" sentiment. Pope got that preseason ranking last year because we ALL thought he was a coach who can win with less talent, that hed improve, and we had some 5*s coming in.

I dont think 5 transfers in the 30th to 200th range is gonna do it this time. And we also have zero recruits.

I really think this upcoming season will absolutely go off the rails.. unless we see some real moves in recruiting, assistant hires, etc. Hope im wrong.

I don't think that was a either or, but whatever the number is that will be what he gets when he comes back, to stay out of the portal

They were 9th last year and I don’t think Moreno/Jasper were much of a factor in that as neither was expected to start. Lowe and Quaintance were however and we saw that bust.

Thus far it’s a weaker portal at the top which will bring college basketball down as a whole compared to last year imo.

IDK, I think anytime you have two top25 freshman, it's always going to be a factor in your preseason ranking. In fairness, we did have bad injuries this year, but it remains to be seen how good we would have been healthy.

I just don't see who is lining up to come here. So far in day one, I think we've had one "get" and that was Kam returning. 4-5 guys already hitting the portal. Didn't land anyone yet, although I don't expect to on day 1. However, do we feel great about any one coming here so far? I think Terrence Brown seems the most promising one so far.

But still, we're going to need 3-4 actual difference makers and probably 2-3 quality bench guys. And even then.. coaching, lol.
