Before this game I thought very little needed to be done with the lineup coming back , now ??? This might be more important this year than last year portal.

We need a big nasty Center, priority number 1. Tec is serviceable, but her ability to dominate and score are not elite. If Swatkins returns, she can add some needed physicality and toughness. Okot was soft.
We have Makeer and Tessa to handle shooting. Edwards and Kitts can handle mid-range, but Edwards will need to improve ball handling and awareness. McDaniel is not Raven, but she can handle point; but we need to see more point production.
Hard to evaluate recruits right now, but Jerzy brings an “It” factor and toughness.

Hopefully, we can get Okot to return. She may go the draft. However, if she returns, she will probably be the biggest, baddest post on the block. That's important in Women's College Basketball. We get Chloe back and hopefully Ashlyn too. Would give us great depth, but who sacrifices for the betterment of the team. Also, we could use another shooter. We have Tessa. I think McDowell and Makeer can develop into shooters, but when you are National Championships contender, you would like a sure thing. Finally, we could use another experienced PG out of the portal. We lost today, but I think our program is in great shape to make another run.
I love where this team is positioned for next season! Getting Kitts back is huge. Okot needs to improve her touch and toughness. Tournabize is not as good as I had hoped, but she did just come in, so hopefully we see massive growth.
If you remember, Cardoso was just so-so on that Final Four Team that lost to Iowa. She came back the next year, with a toughness that she had not exhibited before. I see Okot as a better athlete that needs that second summer in our system. The problem is she played well enough this year that a WNBA team would draft her in the 1st Round. Hopefully, we can get that issue resolved soon.
Need a scoring pg that can also defend , a big with a sense of some offensive ability, and another shooter.
I have watched her play. Quick guard, can shoot the ball. If you can play, you can play. Heck, Hannah Hidalgo is 5'7" and is the best PG in the country to me.
This past season she averaged 37 minutes scoring 22.5 points but with 5 turn overs. Not a good fit for Dawn's system.
We were in her finalists but never got a visit. After she visited Tenn, she shut it down. Dawn said in her presser that she was happy with our front court but would be looking for guards. Plus Edwards is probably way out of our budget. Electric player but I don't see SC for her for these reasons. LSU will probably push hard. She is an Adidas athlete so this might narrow where she can go depending on her arrangement with them.
She looks like a true scholar. I wonder if our academics are good enough to entice her to come?
I like her or Kymora Johnson. Williams is a better distrubutor. Johnson is a better shooter IMO.
Yes, Kymora would be a good one too but feel like Jada may be a better fit for how Staley likes her PGs to play. I would love to see either one.
I want the shooter (Johnson). I miss Paopao and the gravity she commanded. Opened the floor for the post players. Raven shot well this year, but she was never a natural shooter. Johnson won the 3 Point contest at the McDonald's All-American game when she was a senior. So, she has been shooting it since high school. I think this team needs another natural shooter like Tessa. Someone that is going to shoot 35% from 3 even when they are struggling.
Kymora Johnson and Audi Crooks would be a good portal haul . while I like McGill and would love to get both Johnson and McGill, and still hoping for that, I realize you cant be greedy. Kymora adds leadership and efficiency and Crooks will be better defender under Staleys system, while providing video game type numbers on offense. Judging based on one viral video doesnt do justice because people said the same thing about Latson last year that oh she doesn't play defense but that was false. also if Dawn is willing to take Audi Crooks then that means she believes she could be a fit. In a better defensive system with strong perimeter defenders, help rotation, and coaching emphasis (exactly what Staley provides), some of those defensive lapses can be masked or improved.
That doesn't scare me at all. Another undisciplined turnover machine on the roster. I think it would be a bad trade. Richard was a nice young player that improved a lot. Richard really hurt us in the SEC Tournament game. It seemed she would hit a 3 every time we would gain momentum. McGill led the SEC in turnovers and it wasn't even close. Over 5 per ball game. Talented? Yes. However, that team was too volatile to win the close games. They pulled apart when other teams came together. Talent has not been the issue at LSU. The reason they lose to us all the time is their team culture.

I would be surprised. Explosive, but turns over the ball a lot. Doesn't seem to be Dawn's type of PG. I would look at Jada Williams if the Kymora visit doesn't come through for us.
Is this the same LSU fans who declared that getting M Fulwiley guarantee them the national championship, and we would not make it out of the sweet 16 ?
