I read online that she was entering her final year of her deal. Maybe they were just way too far apart on an extension…?

That article is kind of misleading. If it was toxic like they said then why did the players shut down like at Tennessee, and why did they not bolt out in the transfer portal the last three years. K. Johnson would have surely left. I think it is something else and they are using that as the reason. It is not adding up in my book.

This championship game is a bloodbath. Not surprising though as UCLA matches them in size and athleticism. With 3 minutes left SCar has made only one 3-pointer to UCLA's 8.

The team that beats UConn in the semifinal game has lost the championship game the majority of the time.

Two years in a row SC has been blown out in the final game. Each game over by half time.

23UNC you have a very good point; however, at least they have made it to the final game back to back. It is very hard to do that with NIL, the portal, etc. Also, they did have CK all year. Congrats to UCLA. They went out there and took it to them.

UCLA is a dominant team, was surprised to note during the introductions that all 5 of their players are seniors. That's practically unheard of during this time of portal transfers and HS recruiting.

Three of UCLA starters were transfers themselves.

Just kidding, not a bad hire.

Unfortunately he cannot bring Maggie Doogan with him in the portal. Arguably the best player for the Spiders in their history, she just exhausted her eligibility. The other two all-conference players at Richmond also graduated. So he picked a great time to move on, but he has nothing notable to bring with him it appears.

That was a quick hire. I just think it is kind of shocking that VA would fire their coach and say it was toxic with the Admin, etc. as means to get rid of her. We know the relationship with the players was not toxic as the report stated it was with the brass and admin. I still think is more than that. IMO I think the powers that be just wanted to get rid of her.

Man, I still hated that Key left, but I am glad both of them got drafted. Congrats to both of them. I hope that can make the team.

This is pretty interesting. NCSU's Khamil Pierre never entered the portal last year? Instead she gained admittance to NCSU as a regular student. She then was able to talk to NCSU coaches, basically as a walk-on, and then was able to negotiate her NIL compensation. It sounds like she did this at multiple schoools to consider other offers.

Now that will get a coach suspended and teh program fined as an NCAA violation. Wild.

Thanks for sharing. Wow, I did not know they were doing this. We shall see if anything happens to them. If nothing happens then this is just another case were the NCAA just slap them on the write; however, we all remember what happened to us back in Torbush was our HC in football. How the NCAA penalize us not only in football but it carried over into the men's soccer program and our women's basketball program. These programs were hit hard and they tried their best to get our men's basketball program and it took years for them to finally back off.

The article also stated that Clardy was one of Stanford's star players which should mean something to UNC because she transferred to us. This is why I stated she will be a vital piece for us. That article has a lot to take in. It also tells us readers that the pressure to win is tremendous for today's HCs. I am just glad and proud to have the coaching staff that we have. Go Heels!

Stanford might not have been very good as a team, but they did have a few players that were really good. CC being one of them. Also, they did beat us at our place. So to say they was not very good is questionable since that beat us. Beating us at our place does count for something. To do that, they have had to have some very good players.

Stanford missed the tournament for two consecutive years. That is not a good team. It would create loud voices here calling for a new coach.

Yeah, but they beat us. So, if that are not very good, but they but us at our place, what does that say about us? Also, there are two sides two every story. We have not heard the coaches side nor the Admin side from Stanford yet. People are basing their opinions only hearing some of the parents and student who felt they were being bullied, etc. Also, these generation of players in all sports are not mentally tough. They are used to getting their way and babied all of the time. Just look at this generation of kids coming up across the US. If a parent spanks their kid, society is so quick to say that the parent is wrong for doing that. I got spanked a few times coming up and I am not out here in society doing crazy things. Spankings and using some harsh language is good as long as the person doing it does not go overboard with it IMO.

When/If Kate Paye gets fired, then I would put money on Stanford approaching Coach Banghart with her Ivy League background.
