Caitlin and Angle's rivalry started in college and personal, without respecting the other's talent or as a person.
Bird and Magic's rivalry was based on their competitiveness while respected the other's talent as well as a person

Have you seen the HBO show based on the Showtime Lakers?

Only two seasons - it really needs a third - but it’s a fantastic rendition of Bird & Magic’a early years (primarily from the Lakers’s personal with Adrian Brody as Pat Riley)…

Can’t recommend it enough. But yes the Clark-Reese seems more personal and thus potentially uglier.

Not quite Bird-Magic, but the animus is real

Funny how minor slights between people who don’t like each other are such a big deal now. It does show team chemistry is not what it should be. I remember a time when team chemistry was so bad that a fight broke out between the players on Rutgers bench during a men’s game. The players involved were lucky that it was prior to all the social media and it was only shown once on tv and then forgotten.

Reese is a national champion and clark is not-that is clark's ptonlem.
Reese has the ring but isn't respected , Clark earned the respecxt she's reciving because she proved to be one of the all time great college players and now is earning respect for being one of the best of today's pros.
Throw in how Caitlin seems to be the driving force on how the WNBA is catching the public's eye is another reason Caitlin Clark is one of the most respected basketball players in today's game, male or female.
Angel has a lot to be proud of, but even with her championship she was overshadowed by Caitlin in the college game and that's continuing in the pros.

Angel's a Dream now, she fell out of the Chicago Sky and landed in Atlanta
>In the trade, the Sky are getting a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 first-round pick from the Dream and are sending a second-round pick swap in 2028.<

I think it's more other people than it is them. Any mention of Reese on social media and a certain segment gets their fangs out. And it's very personal with them. And there has been a lot lately between her trade and her off-court, offseason activity such as working as a VS model.

No matter what, for some it's must see TV when they play and you know the WNBA loves the attention it brings
