I like him. I love his athleticism and he has moments of extreme potential. I just don’t like him playing for us in our system

Honestly, I've been somewhat in his corner from day one but I'd like to see him play the 4 more, which means we need to shore up the 5 spot. I've felt like he's been playing out of position the whole time he's been here. So, I can see why he'd want to go elsewhere, if not for that reason alone. The kid has some skills and his scouting report on him said he was a smart kid. I just think he'd blossom at the 4 spot. He's certainly not a great shooter but he's got a pretty good stroke and has great size for a 4. Either way, I wish him well but I wouldn't mind seeing him come back with the right pieces around him. I totally understand my opinion is not a popular one on here and that's ok with me.
He’s definitely an enigma to me. He was actually one of our best performers in the SEC tournament and especially the Santa Clara game. He was also went through stretches in the regular season where he often looked like the worst player on the floor when he entered games. I don’t hate the guy like a lot of people seem to, but I also won’t mind if someone more consistent ends up taking his spot in the rotation.
If you can’t replace the AWESOME points per game of 8, 4.9 and 4.7 so far from these 3 then just cancel the season next year.

Maybe he ends up at SMU with Hart? Thought I heard that was a possibility but don't remember where. He's from OKC and still has family there. I don't know what the deal is with his son as far as custody. Getting back to that area might be good for him.

I just googled out of curiosity to find out who it was and came up empty. I assume it's someone from Oklahoma. I think Garrison's mother traveled to Lexington occasionally with the kid.
BG was way overpaid for the 3 good games he had. UK probably was offering him a lot less money to stay this coming year

I don't condemn anyone for liking any player. That said, if anyone came in with more hype and fell flat the worst, it was Garrison. Built like Tarzan, played like Jane, but would do stupid stuff all the time while trying to be tough. I couldn't stand it and I just felt like he was a weak link the whole time he was here. I had really hoped he'd built himself up coming into this season and if anything, he got worse.
Agree that the split needed to happen and I don't hate the guy at all. He just didn't have what it takes to play here. Not everyone does. Won't hold it against him or JJ or anyone else. I genuinely hope he lands some place where he can succeed in his senior year.

Love to see him go to Florida under Golden. Pope has never developed any bigs in 2 years. I guess next year will prove if that the case. I think he will do great if he lands in a good program.
BG doesn’t have any upside…he hasn’t developed skill wise, mentally, or physically during his time at UK. Not a big loss in my eyes. I hope MM is in the weight room right now!

Nothing personally against Garrison at all. On the court he reminded me somewhat of JaVale McGee in that there would be moments or a string of them where you were like “holy crap that was awesome” and then there would be a moment or string of them that were the goofiest basketball plays you’d seen in a while. Like comically ridiculous the gap between the good and the bad.
