This is devastating for me. I'm a huge Henderson fan. Wish her well.

I think she will have a big leap next season when she is not coming off of injury and she will surely get a bunch more PT wherever she goes as she will not be on a team stacked at her position. Everyone will marvel at her improvement, but really it is predictable.

Another reason is maybe she wants to get back closer to home, it does not seem that PT and money would have been an issue. Lots of potentials, but this is the world which we now live in. Very few players will stay at one school long enough to establish themselves, unless it's the UCONN, UCAL, USC, Texas or SC who can afford to pay them.

I think Taissa Q mostly took her spot at the 4.

Bottom line is a coach is going to play the players that gives us a chance to win every game.

I love TH's potential and I hate she is gone but we still needed to win those nail bitter games down
the stretch.

I wish I knew what Coach CB was thinking about next season's roster. Lol. Maybe I would feel better.

I mean she made ALOT of mental errors and lacked ability to finish. What are you supposed to do when you want to win games? Hull took her spot.
Nearly every player on this team made several mistakes, and allowed to play through. See Indya Nivar. I dont blame her. I hope she lands on a team where shes allowed to grow!

Nivar is a sr who was by far the best defensive player. On a team that lacked athleticism she competed on a high level. If Henderson played close to Nivar she plays 20+ min a game. Guys this isnt rec league.

Her minutes eroded when Queiroz came on in particular. she dropped a couple of mintues per game later in the season. But she still played double digit minutes per game, its not she did not see the floor.

UNC and Louisville lead the conference in bench minutes. You can argue who should have played over whom, but this team played subs more than just about anyone.

But I get and agree with the frustration that everyone feels. Henderson has perhaps the highest ceiling of anyone on this team. she likely will be a star player as an upperclassman. All conference accolades.

But the goal is to win now. coaches do not have the luxury to just teach raw players in competitive games. If they lose they get fired. And it is not fair to whomever earned the minutes in games and in practice.

MPG this season:
Hull 12.3
Queiroz 11.9
Henderson 10.4

There is no meaningful spread between these three.

Nivar: 28.7
Harris: 23.7
Brooks: 19.9

There is your tier one and none of them broke 30 mpg.

Henderson was not treated as tier 1, but she was right there in tier 2 with others. The issue here is 6 ACC caliber players sharing the same two positions on the court. Not someone getting treated poorly or getting benched.

Assuming this decision was freshman playing time issue (I doubt it). Here is the hypothetical: If Henderson got Hull's 2 extra minutes, would that have moved the needle? I doubt it. If she got Brook's 9 more minutes, then yeah that would have mattered. But did she deserve that? Would we instead have Brooks in the portal?

Here is what I bet happened: every coach in America knows that UNC has talent stacked in the wing: more players than playing time this past season. And the reserve with the most upside was poached. The most obvious target. We could not match.

Very well said 3397. Bottom line we kept the best wing of the 2 (Brooks or Henderson) IMO.

I wish TH well. I think she left a starting spot or at least starters min.

You’re talking about a senior that grinded for 3 years vs a frosh.

There’s no way you compare the two if you actually have coaching experience.

Honestly think she should have taken more of Hull’s minutes since her 2 pt fg percentage was so low.

Down the stretch Hull got the minutes. One of them was probably departing. Hopefully CB chose the correct one. Two entirely different players.

My question would be, if you go to another team, who is to say that you might not start, play, etc. To be honest, if you are trying to go to the WNBA, you will have to learn how to deal with more talent coming in on a yearly basis, you could get injured and a person who is on the bench could take your spot when you come back. The world is very competitive and so is college basketball and professional sports. At some point, you are going to have to learn how to handle it, adjust to it, without running away. The grass is not always greener on the other side. If she goes to a major power house school like a UCONN, Texas, SC, to name a few, you already know that those coaches are going to bring in top level talent everyone which is going to challenge you every day and they might even take your starting spot on the team. Does cooperate American work the same way? The answer is yes. These companies are looking for the best and brightest people all the time. With that being said, at some point, you are going to have to be able handle pressure and competition. I rather learn that now as a freshman than to learn it as a senior and a freshman comes in and takes your spot.

Because you can collect more money moving. Why would you sit the bench and get paid less? She can start at a less competitive team, get paid and then transfer again once your skillet is good enough. Doesn't make sense to sit bench at elite schools

Gio I think TH could have started at the 4 her position this past season.

Kate, Elina, Nyla B, Taliyah, Ciera would be odd's on favorite's to start at this point.

Now we maybe adjust to Kate, Elina, Laila H, Nyla, Ciera based on our current roster minus TH.

I hate to see her go just like LG but I do understand. I wish them both nothing but the best. We have to find their replacements. Our GM and her staff has some work to do now. Go Heels!

Trust the process with CB and her GM, they have probably already address what their needs are going forward. No one can say for sure if the players who went the portal route were given a reality check by the coaching staff on what their future might enhance with Carolina. There are some players who have a great upside, which the staff has acknowledged, and they will fill the vacancies with more athletics players.

The Coaches probably know who is interested in coming to UNC WBB and we don't.

We just have to hope it works out in our favor whatever it is.
