Tenn's 6-3 F Lauren Hurst enters the portal. she was the #50 overall recruit. She was not a huge contributor as a frosh, but started to produce some towards the end of the season. 41% on 3pt shots

She is also a volleyball star, one we coveted last cycle. We did offer. But her final three were Tenn, NCSU, and Clemson.

Reserve player Kaniya Boyd also enters the portal.

That is the 4th Tenn player to declare. With graduating seniors and transfers out of the picture, four players are currently slated to return next season: Talaysia Cooper, Mia and Mya Pauldo, and Jaida Civil. They also have two recruits: #4 6-3 PF "Big O" Edwards and and #43 SG Gabby Minus.

WF loses the only player on their roster who had ACC accolades: she was on the ACC All-freshman team. Grace Oliver is probably their best player though

last season the portal was already open at this point: it opened the day after the 2nd round on March 24th.

this year we have to wait until April 6th, after the championship. But obviously well over 100 D1 players have already announced their intentions.

her are some timelines from last season

  • end of conference tournaments: some players started announcing intentions to enter portal
  • Mar 24th: portal opens with a flood: 400 players by end of day 1
  • Approx April 1st: top portal players started announcing their decisions
  • April 3rd: Tray Crisp enters the portal, our only departure.
  • April 4th: Nyla Harris commits to UNC
  • April 4th: Thomas and Zubich commented on Insta indicating they would return to UNC.
  • April 12th: we first hear of Aarnisalo interest in UNC with news of visit scheduled the following week-end.
  • april 15th: Elina Aarnisalo announces for UNC (before Her and Scott were su-posed to visit that weeke-end)
  • april 15th: Tray Crisp commits to Miss St
  • april 30th: Serah Williams commits to UConn. Our last prospect so this unofficially ends our portal recruiting season. We pursued her for a whopping 7 weeks.

players we pursued and did not land:
  • Serah Williams - Wisconsin All-B1G 1st team enters portal 3/12. LSU, UConn and UNC are her only scheduled visits (UConn commit April 30th)
  • Gal Raviv: MAAC ROY at Quinipiac ( Miami commit on April 6th)
  • Carter McCray: Wisconsin player enters portal 3/26 (closed recruiting with Harris commit, comits to WVU on April 13th)
  • Marta Suarez: Cal, we were a finalist on April 7th ( TCU commit on April 11th)
  • Yuting Deng: Auburn, entered portal 3/27 (Baylor April 15th)
  • Ta’Miya Scott: MTSU, we were a finalist on April,9th with visit scheduled on April 17th ( Bama commit on the 21st, we probably pulled out with Aarnisalo commit)

Thanks for sharing 3397Char. We know why they had to move the date back for transfers. They had to make it fair for the teams that are still playing to have a chance to go after them too. This is what Tom Izzo was stating last year on the men's side. How is was unfair for coaches who teams were still playing did not have the opportunity to pursue players who had hit the portal because they were still playing.

We need to retain Henderson - her ceiling is off the charts. Need to develop her into the star she can be. Gotta keep her in CH.

Side note- I wonder if Serah Williams has any regrets about choosing UCONN? She may very well win a natty but doesn’t look anything like the first team all big-ten player she was previously. Understand she is surrounded by two of the best players in college ball but freshman Quiñónez surpassed her in every category and she never seemed to reach her potential at UCONN. Her confidence doesn’t seem to be there. One of those scenarios where fit really matters. I’m glad Toomey got the chance to develop this year and I think Williams would have stifled that to some degree, but seems like we may have been a better landing spot for her.

I thought the same thing and Serah Williams. I think she would have been happier in CH.
UConn gets so much talent. Their 10th man would probably be All ACC if given the playing time.
Geno keeps pulling them in.

Anyone know the timeline of when our postseason meetings are happening? Assuming we'll hear of any transfers out this week?

Addie Deal was the #12 recruit last season, McD A-A, and earned B1G All freshman team this year

15 MPG, 5.1 PPG, 1.2 RPG, 1.6 APG

UNC offered, but if I recall correctly we were not a finalist.

Louisville played with depth on par to UNC this season, they also went legit 10 deep when healthy.

With that said, Thy now have two in the portal:

6-3 F Aniya Hardy was a Soph starter but was only 7th in MPG at 11.4. 4.9 PPG, 4.2 RPG,

6-4 C Isla Juffermans is a soph who did not play this year, possibly injured or off the team.

Louisville also loses SR starting PF Ziegler and rotational reserve G Scott to the portal. Nothing they cant overcome at this point. They have two recruits ranked in the 40's nationally plus a 6-4 F/C from Türkiye who was recruited competitively by multiple teams.

I’m not 100% sure we will be much of a player in the portal this year, but will try to track any moves with even potential UNC implications here

There has been a significant change to the portal this season:
  • 2026 Window (This Year): April 6 – April 20 (15 days), opening the day after the national championship game.
  • 2025 Window (Last Year): Began March 24th/25th (during the tournament) and lasted 30 days.
  • Key Shift: Players can no longer enter the portal while their team is playing in March Madness.
  • Coaching Changes: Following a head coach departure, players have a specific 15-day window, opening five days after a new hire is announced, or 31 days after the old coach leaves.

However, players will start announcing their intentions once their teams conclude their season, before the portal officially opens, to signal their openness for back channel communications through agents.

list of UNC Players who have entered the Portal:
- Jr SG Lanie Grant - 10.8 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 0.8 Apg, 41.9% 3Pt%

Running tally of UNC’s Roster for 2025-26 (15 player limit)
  1. Sr Kelly
  2. Sr Barker
  3. Jr Toomey
  4. Jr Hull
  5. Jr Thomas
  6. Jr Zubich
  7. Jr Aarnisalo
  8. So Astakhova
  9. So Queiroz
  10. So Henderson
  11. So Brooks - publicly announced return next season
  12. Fr Bofia
  13. Fr Harpring
Portal Players with visits scheduled/completed:
-none

Portal Players who have expressed interest in UNC or list offers:
-none

Portal players with previous ties to UNC via recruiting:
  • Lena Girardi of OK ST - final 5 last season, we received an OV

Bingo.
And you have to modify your offense too much to fit her post up game. Pass on this one and get some athletes on the wing.
i haven't watched her outside of highlights ... i could see where she'd be a defensive liability ... but offensively i thought she could have a similar role to nyla ... both are big girls who work the paint ...

ISU seems to be in full rebuild mode at this point:

Addy Brown – Iowa State junior Addy Brown announces that she’s entering the transfer portal. Brown was a star in Ames, averaging 13.6 points, 8.1 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game over her career. The do-it-all forward has one year of eligibility left

Freya Jensen – Iowa State’s Freya Jensen plans to enter the transfer portal, per On3. The 5-10 freshman averaged 1.6 ppg this season. She will have four years of eligibility remaining.

Reagan Wilson – Iowa State sophomore guard Reagan Wilson is entering the transfer portal, per On3Sports. Wilson averaged 2.5 points per game in 2025-26 and shot 40.5% from three. She has two years of eligibility remaining.

Reece Beaty – Iowa State freshman guard Reece Beaty is reportedly going to enter the transfer portal, per On3Sports. Beaty averaged 4.6 points, 3.3 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game in her lone season in Ames. Beaty has three seasons of eligibility remaining.

Lilly Taulelei – Iowa State junior forward Lilly Taulelei plans to enter the transfer portal, per On3Sports. Taulelei played 5.6 minutes in 21 games this season.

Aili Tanke – Iowa State guard Aili Tanke is hitting the transfer portal, per The Des Moines Register. Tanke, a former star at Johnston, played 44 games the last two seasons including six starts.

And you can now add a 7th player:
Jada Williams - The Star 5-8 junior PG averaged 15.3 ppg, 3.5 rpg and 7.7 apg this season.

Edit: - add a 9th player:
6-2 junior Alisa Williams averaged 4.8 ppg and 3.3 rpg this season.

Another edit 3/30 10th player in the portal:
5-9 junior Kenzie Hare averaged 6 ppg this season.

They have one other key player who is graduating, so they lose 11 of 13 total players on the current team as of now.

And their best player, 2nd team A-A Audi Crooks was non-committal when asked by USA Today if she was returning:

And the other shoe drops: All-American Audi Crooks enters the portal:

I think ISU is now down to just one returning player, and they have one recruit coming in who is borderline top 100.

Edit: clearly i got scooped above, lol

Don't think coach would be interested because she doesn't play much defense
Yeah as good as Crooks is, if you have her on your team you will have to completely rebuild both your offense and defense around her unbelievable skills and her massive deficiencies.

UNc would no longer run in transition and go back to feeding the post as Plan A on every possession. On defense we have to become a zone defense as Crooks simply cannot leave the paint.

the hardest thing with Crooks is how you maintain offensive efficiency when she rests 12 or so minutes per game when your offense is built around her. You almost have to have two offenses.

We need someone with a similar skill set and presence to Harris but even better on the boards - thinking like a Quiñónez or Ashlyn Watkins type. Or throwing it back to like a Larkins. Harris was so big for us because she was imposing and physical and could command the paint but still athletic enough to run the floor at a high level, consistently hit a 12ft jumper, and switch on guards defensively. We’re going to be soft next year if we don’t find a bully in the post.

She is a totally different player than Nyla.
Yeah Harris was a complementary player; a stat stuffer. No need to run offense through her.

Crooks you have to run offense through her as she is one of the most efficient scorers you will ever see, and you are going to need every bit of that because the opposing team will also get theirs with her playing defense.

She averaged 26 points per game on 65% on FGs and 8 RPG, but her team was still mediocre with the 8th most efficient offense. Part of that is a mediocre supporting roster but also they were 92nd in team defensive efficiency largely due to her.

i'll pass on crooks. Great player but her defensive deficiencies cancel out her offensive prowess. There is very little net gain to having her on your team.

the great UNC teams of the past have been guard dominant with a good supporting big.

That's the formula CB needs to follow and i think she's working towards that

Sr 5-10 Mizzou SG Shannon Dowell was mentioned by Andrew Kurzeja on the Carmichael Radio as a target worth considering.

29.3 MPG, 14.9 PPG, 6.1 RPG, 2.3 APG, 1.1 SPG but only 30% from 3pt. Worried by that 3pt% if we focus on replacing Grant.

I know we won't get her.... I'm throwing the kitchen sing at Audi and figure it out later. All the BS excuses I just read is just ridiculous. Get into the program, let her know the plan to get her to drop a few lbs and get he in the best shape that the off-season will allow and then coach. I'll take Audi everyday and twice on Sunday and figure it out
