I was at the game last night. The Burns Freshman pitcher is great and is going to be really great over the next few years. Cramer did start Stutzman. Congratulations to Burns. It was a good game (back and forth). Burns scored runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to go ahead, Cramer scored 2 runs in the top of the 7th to go back ahead, and Burns hit a two out single to win the game. Very competitive and should be like that on Thursday and if they eventually meet down the road in the playoffs.

Side note, we loved the fried bologna and livermush sandwiches last night up there. Best concession stand we have been to this year.

It happens every year. We have a cookout and a baseball game breaks out. That game was a great to watch. Stutzman is as advertised. Thursday should be another great game.

Another great game.
On another note, with as nice of a school as SC has, why in the hell are we having to play softball at Belmont Middle today? They forgot to put up lights at the school? LOL

I don’t have a kid on the baseball or softball team so I will defer to the ones that do, but let’s just say this has been a constant problem for the last 3-4 years. Seems like something else could have been done, but again I haven’t been at the forefront on those talks.

Morehead moves to 10-4 and the only undefeated team in the mid state 3a/4a/5a conference. Playing good team ball right now!!!

Going to be a big one coming up on 4/14. Burns at Cherryville. I want be able to make it but looking forward to hear how the game turns out.

I'll update the final but Burns leads 1-0 after 3 innings. Both starting pitchers have 8 strikeouts in 3 innings. Burns got a HR for their run

Cherryville gets runners to 2nd and 3rd with no outs, Burns brings in their freshman pitcher and he gets out of it. Still 7-0 Bulldogs going to the 6th

Actually I'm wrong. There isn't a conference tournament this year. Regular season ends May 1st and the 1st round of the playoffs is May 5th.

Pisgah lost 4-3 to Tuscola for their second loss last night.

We hit a 2-run hr in the first and carried a 2-0 lead into the top of the 7th and Wester was throwing no hitter for us. Tuscola got a hit, couple walks, and laid down a nice bunt and went up 4-2 in 7th. Pisgah loaded the bases with 1 out but only mustered 1run and lost 4-3.

Other than the one mistake for the HR, Tuscola’s Harrell tossed a solid game himself.

Pisgah has 3 games left that I anticipate will be tough games. West Henderson (assuming they throw Duvall) and both games against Brevard will be tough. Brevard has a great all around sophomore in Hunter Mason.

Our pitching has been rock solid this year but our offense hasn’t always bought us the necessary “cushion” to keep us from being vulnerable, or in “dogfights”, late in the games.

The 8th grade class coming up is huge for baseball and football. Burns is not going away anytime soon.

I could see Shelby moving up to 4A next realignment. Burns is in the middle of the numbers or they were the last I looked so I think we will stay put.

I guess it really depends on how Gaston County moves the lines if they do. I have heard we will lose some kids to East Gaston but also get some of the Ashbrook kids. Right now we are the largest 4A school in the state (larger than some of the 5A schools this year). I don’t see anyway we stay in 4A but will enjoy the next 3-4 years.
