C'mon Duke there are several hundred posts and at least three threads on this subject. What the heck.
Her back ailment prevented her from crouching and raising arms extended straight up. She could still spin around and bend elbows slightly above head. Unfortunately, her medical condition precluded her from being able to play defense. Offense, no problem.
Emely will go down as one of the greatest Hawkeyes ever. She will average 20 points a game next year while leading Iowa to the national championship. How can you not be romantic about women's college basketball?
Its a mystery only because Jan and or Beth chose to make it one. Like where's Waldo
There will not be a word said until day 1 of formal portal entry. She will enter.
If she is looking at her options, unless there was some good reason like family, etc, I would assume Jan would have told her, one of them isn't Iowa this Fall.
Like I said, outside of Emely, Beth, and coaches, nobody knows exactly what's going on. Even people on the extended staff don't know...or aren't talking.

She hurt her back. Did the rehab. Iowa medical staff cleared her to play. She didn't think she was ready to come back. There was a disagreement with her and Jan, so she was disciplined internally. She then didn't want to burn a year of eligibility and come back. She can apply for a medical hardship if she wants.
She will be leaving Iowa and moving on.

You disagree? If you were the coach and a player was looking at the portal and then decided to stay put, you would be ok with that? Not me.
I would be ok with that.
I want people to work for me that are independently minded enough to look at and and decide what's best for them.
If it's working for me I would feel fantastic about it
If the only thing that person is solely focused on is what's best for them then I want them gone yesterday. They're a cancer.

Agree, and I’m not a fan of this, Iowa has been somewhat insulated from this new reality, but seems like it has arrived in town. It will be interesting to see how it affects the fan support. Not sure if I would be as interested if Iowa becomes the next TCU.
