I really thought our offense was going to be improved this year but doesn't look any better to me
We are doing everything needed to win except one thing. Shoot better. We have good looks and the one v one just has to be canned at this level. 4* freshman no excuse. At this level it has to go in.
By my count we had 18 what I would call good to great looks. That’s what an offense is designed to do. 18 good to great looks should translate into 8-9 goals at expected shooting percentage levels. We simply need to shoot better. We are making every goalie work play look like Colin Kirst. Also work the ball inside more.
6-5 Hopkins...I'm pretty sure he whipped that through 4, maybe 5, defenders. Way to slow on their slides right there.
7-5 Hopkins....oooof....they're converging on the ball very well near the crease on D. We're not. Good timeout here before things get too far out of reach.
Shots are falling and so are theirs. 91 for them simply can’t be allowed in the middle of the field hands free. That’s a no go zone
Net neutral period....not bad but not great....would've been nice to be down only a single goal in a match like this one.
Just awful. You can't blow a 2-minute opportunity like that! Ugh.
